POSITION SUMMARY:

This position is responsible for providing beverage service to club members and guests and is expected to mix beverage ingredients to create classic and innovative beverages and comply Maryland liquor laws. The bartender also assists with food service as necessary.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:



  1. In compliance with Maryland state liquor laws, provide full beverage service including but not limited to preparation of cocktails, mocktails, wine and beer.
  2. Maintain bar, cabinets, fridges and guest dining spaces as clean, stocked and organized.
  3. Manage the bar area including inventory, submit inventory to the Chef for ordering based on par levels; restock all bar supplies, including alcohol, mixers, garnishes and other soft beverages.
  4. Consistently present a positive attitude to greet and communicate with members and guests.
  5. Provide event service for large parties at outside events, as well as in the clubhouse.
  6. Answer incoming calls professionally and take reservations accurately; may be asked to check incoming email for member online reservations.
  7. May be responsible for performing club closing duties that include but not limited to cleanup, setting alarms, and locking gate.
  8. May perform other duties as assigned, including proper storage, handling and inventory tracking of cigars and humidor maintenance.


EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS



  1. High school diploma or equivalent.
  2. Two years of bartending or comparable experience in a country club or restaurant.
  3. Alcohol Awareness Training/TIPS certified.
  4. ServSafe certification a plus.


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES



  1. Ability to prepare bottles for formal wine service, some knowledge of wine is helpful.
  2. Knowledge of proper food handling and safety knowledge is a must.
  3. Ability to use a point of sale system, such as EZ Links, to charge members and guests accurately
  4. Excellent communication skills, required to speak and read English to review bar & dining menus, BEO's, staff email notices and other marketing collateral provided by the management.
  5. Strong customer service skills. Ability to effectively deal with internal and external customers and staff. Ability to interact with a high level of patience, tact, and diplomacy, and can maintain composure under pressure. Can easily mediate and resolve conflicts
  6. Ability to strictly follow Club rules and adhere to the Four Streams' food and beverage training manual of procedures.
  7. A professional presence and strong interpersonal skills for interacting in a courteous, timely, and diplomatic manner with all levels of employees, members and guests.
  8. Ability to move/lift up to 50 pounds.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The job requires reaching of arms and hands, stooping, bending, pushing, pulling, standing or walk for prolonged periods of time. Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects up to 25 pounds without assistance.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The position work in a typical restaurant/country club environment that is moderately quiet. On occasion, may work outside and with varying noise levels.

COMPENSATION SUMMARY:

The hourly rate for this position ranges from $18.00 to $20.82. This salary range represents a general guideline as Four Streams considers other factors when presenting an offer of employment, such as scope and responsibilities of the position, external market factors, and the candidate's knowledge, skills, abilities, education and experience. Employees may qualify for a discretionary or non-discretionary bonus in addition to their base salary. These annual bonuses are intended to recognize individual performance and enable employees to benefit from the Company's overall success.
