Your Job

Georgia-Pacific is seeking an aspiring Project Engineer to join our Engineering Development Program in the summer of 2027 in Green Bay, WI. This position will provide responsible for leading and supporting project teams to execute projects successfully, including the full lifecycle of projects from inception through startup.

This position will be based out of our Green Bay offices, but will require up to 50% travel to other facilities where projects are being executed.

The Georgia-Pacific Project & Engineering teamwork within our facilities to deliver projects, solutions, technology platforms, and asset strategies that enable our manufacturing capability. The Regional and Program team's focus is on regional approaches to develop and deliver Programs/Projects. We believe that everyone should be an entrepreneur no matter what role they are in. What You Will Do

  • Manage small- to medium-sized capital and expense projects.
  • Support project managers on medium- to large-sized capital projects.
  • Projects on paper machines and/or secondary fiber plants.
  • Project development, including scope development, engineering, estimating, schedule development, and funding requests.
  • Project execution, including detailed design, purchasing, construction management, and startup support.
  • Work with and through others, including equipment suppliers, engineering firms, construction contractors, etc. as a cohesive team focused on meeting project objectives.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
* Currently pursuing a degree in Mechanical, Civil, or related Engineering degree field

* Eligible to work full-time on or by Summer 2027

* Legal authorization to work permanently in the United States for any employer without requiring a visa transfer or visa sponsorship.
* Experience internship or project experience in an engineering, operations, and/or construction environment
* Able and willing to travel up to 50% of the time

What Will Put You Ahead
* Experience in a pulp and paper mill environment
