Responsibilities

SUMMARY:

This position is responsible for all activities associated with the creating, analyzing, routing, and uploading of Stock Requests to support existing and new customer implementations along with notifying workers in the 30/60/90 Process to ensure that the requirements of KGP's business plan are met. This position is the primary backup to the Supervisor Procurement. This position must also meet the overstock inventory objectives of KGP while maintaining profitable company inventory levels, and inventory turns to meet required customer service levels.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

    The Lead Inventory Specialist is responsible for updating and maintaining the TL9000 document PR-F-5004 Stock Request form, located on KGP SharePoint.
  • The Lead Inventory Specialist is responsible for obtaining, reviewing, and analyzing the completed PR-F-5004 Stock Request form from the initiator, to ensure that all required data is filled out properly.
  • The Lead Inventory Specialist runs the Stock Request through the Microsoft 2010 Access Database and builds the routing for the finalized Stock Request.
  • The Lead Inventory Specialist maintains the status of each in-process Stock Request to ensure that both the fiscal approvals and functioning work groups needs are met within a timely manner.
  • The Lead Inventory Specialist helps on any given Stock Request, as needed.
  • The Lead Inventory Specialist is responsible for saving each completed Stock Request in a central location before uploading the form into another central location in the Microsoft 2010 Access Database.
  • The Lead Inventory Specialist is responsible for performing behind the scenes updates and or changes as needed at the Stock Request level.
  • The Lead Inventory Specialist is responsible for ensuring that the Microsoft 2010 Stock Request Database has a compact and repair performed bi-weekly.
  • The Inventory Specialist Team Lead must be able to present and train KGP employees on how to create and process a Service Request.
  • The Lead Inventory Specialist will conduct Stock Request training for other KGP work groups on an as-needed basis and assist other work groups on an individual basis as well.
  • The Lead Inventory Specialist must also be able to utilize Navision, SharePoint, KGP Care, Microsoft Office, Excel, and Access at an intermediate skill level.
  • The Lead Inventory Specialist is an integral part of a cross-functional business team that manages to a set of joint objectives including inventory turns, overstock, customer service levels, profitability, and EVA.
  • The Lead Inventory Specialist is responsible for reviewing and maintaining the 30/60/90 report by notifying item workers of their items on this report and making sure actions are documented.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Safety Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to, promote, and accept responsibility for compliance to Federal and Local Occupational Safety and Health Regulations, Industry Consensus Standards, and KGP Injury and Illness Prevention Program Manual.
    * Participate in job site safety/hazard analysis.


Qualifications

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Requires High School degree or equivalent.
  • Previous inventory control and warehouse problem-solving a
  • Two-year college degree preferred.
  • Minimum of six years work experience in Logistics, Marketing or Sales.
  • Must possess sound analytical, decision-making, multi-tasking, problem-solving, and computer skills.
  • Data manipulation skills via Excel, Access, and other system tools or applications are required.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos; ability to write simple correspondence; ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the Company.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

  • Ability to add and subtract 10-digit numbers, to multiply and divide with tens and hundreds; ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume and distance.

REASONING ABILITY:

  • No major critical thinking required. Work follows established job aids and business rules. Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form; ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
