The Customer Support Business Group focuses on enabling our customers with premier customersupport throughout their lifecycle with Lam. We drive performance, productivity, safety, andquality of customers installed base performance and deliver service and lifecycle solutionsfor their most critical equipment and processes.

Lam Research is a leading global manufacturer of capital equipment used in making leading-edge-semiconductors across the world. We primarily compete in four specific areas: deposition, etch, photoresist strip, and single wafer clean.

There is currently an opening for the role ofSenior Technical Writer within CSBG in the Knowledge Management / Technical Publications organization. The technical writer in this position is responsible for creating and editing technical procedures and manuals for Lam internal and external customers. This regular full-time position will be based in Fremont, California, and the writer will be working closely with engineers, core writing staff, andcross-functional teams across global regions of Lam Research.

Primary Responsibilities

• Create and thoroughly edit technical procedures and manuals for internal and external customers
• Collaborate with engineers and core writing staff to finalize procedures using Microsoft Word
• Ensure accuracy, completeness, and timely delivery of technical content
• Create product manuals in the Content Management System (CMS)
• Obtain information from engineering sources, edit the information for accuracy and completeness, and incorporate it into procedures
• Attend and contribute to content team meetings, and provide status and plan for future deliverables

• A minimum of abachelor's degree, preferably in one of the following fields of study:
  Technical Writing, English, Communications, or Journalism
• Note: A different degree (for example, an Engineering degree) is acceptable but excellent writing skills are required.
• Minimum of5 yearsof professional technical writing experience
• The following mandatory skills and experience:
  • Strong English language skills (This is a MUST have.)
  • Work experience in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

    • Excellent editing and writing skills
    • Strong attention to detail
    • Excellent organizational skills
    • Ability to work well in a team environment
    • Good communication skills

Lam offers a variety of work location models based on the needs of each role. Our hybrid roles combine the benefits of on-site collaboration with colleagues and the flexibility to work remotely and fall into two categories - On-site Flex and Virtual Flex. 'On-site Flex' you'll work 3+ days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, with the opportunity to work remotely for the balance of the week. 'Virtual Flex' you'll work 1-2 days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, and remotely the rest of the time.
