About the Opportunity:

Pursuit Aerospace is seeking a skilled Preventive Maintenance Technician to support precision CNC manufacturing equipment used in aerospace part production. This position is primarily responsible for performing detailed preventive and predictive maintenance on complex CNC machine tools. Employees who excel in this role may be considered for career growth into more advanced Maintenance Technician roles.

Location: Thomasville, GA

This is a full-time role that may require some extended hours and weekends, as needed.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify equipment deterioration early, accurately document machine condition, and correct or escalate developing problems before they result in unplanned downtime Promote Pursuit's values and cultural priorities, serving as a visible advocate for positive workplace behaviors, accountability, and employee engagement across all levels of the site.
  • Perform quarterly, semi-annual, and annual preventive maintenance on CNC manufacturing equipment.
  • Inspect, service, and evaluate mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, lubrication, coolant, spindle, tool changer, and machine-control systems.
  • Inspect and evaluate components including bearings, gears, gearboxes, ball screws, linear guides, couplings, belts, pumps, motors, valves, cylinders, sensors, drives, and electrical-panel components.
  • Perform fluid, lubricant, and filter service according to OEM and established maintenance requirements.
  • Perform spindle and tool-retention inspections, including drawbar retention-force testing.
  • Perform machine-condition and accuracy checks including spindle runout, axis backlash, machine level, and ballbar verification.
  • Identify abnormal wear, leakage, contamination, overheating, vibration, noise, electrical deterioration, and other indications of developing equipment failure.
  • Troubleshoot deficiencies discovered during preventive maintenance and communicate findings requiring additional repair or corrective maintenance.
  • Accurately document maintenance activities, measurements, deficiencies, and corrective-work requirements in the CMMS.
  • Follow all plant safety and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) requirements.
  • Return equipment to a clean, fully assembled, production-ready condition following maintenance.
  • Other related duties as requested by the supervisor or manager

Required Qualifications:

  • 1 or more years of related experience such as industrial, CNC operation, Electromechanical Work, Technical related military positions or completion of course work in Industrial Maintenance, Mechatronics, Electromechanical Technology, CNC/Machine Tool Technology, or a related technical field
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time bases without sponsorship now or in the future. The Company cannot offer employment to visa holders who require employer sponsorship in the future or cannot work now on a full-time basis.
  • Must be able to perform work subject to ITAR/EAR regulations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3 or more years of related experience such as industrial, CNC operation, Electromechanical Work, Technical related military positions
  • Completion of a degree program in Industrial Maintenance, Mechatronics, Electromechanical Technology, CNC/Machine Tool Technology, or a related technical field
  • Previous hands-on experience maintaining CNC machining centers or other complex automated manufacturing equipment.
  • Experience with C.B. Ferrari, Makino, Mori Seiki/DMG Mori, Haas, DN Solutions/Doosan, or Heller CNC equipment.
  • Experience performing machine-condition and precision measurements such as drawbar retention force, spindle runout, backlash, machine leveling, and ball bar testing.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a maintenance team, taking ownership of assigned responsibilities while coordinating with others as needed to safely and efficiently complete preventive-maintenance activities within scheduled downtime.

Working Conditions

  • Work will be performed on the production floor which may include moderate noise exposure
  • Must be able to stand/walk for long periods of time
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 35 pounds.
  • Personal protective equipment (e.g., safety glasses, noise protection, and safety shoes) is required on the shop floor
