ABOUT THE POSITION
Position Overview: As a Wire Transfer Specialist, you will play a critical role in supporting the credit union's wire transfer operations. You'll process domestic and international wire transfers, provide expert guidance on wire-related matters, support branches and departments, and help ensure transactions are completed accurately, securely, and in compliance with regulatory requirements. This role combines operational excellence, risk awareness, problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration to support an exceptional member experience.
Position Type: Full-Time
Compensation Range: $20.00/hr. - $22.50/hr. *Hiring rates may be dependent on a number of factors, including years of directly related work experience, education, geographic location or special skills*
Location: This role offers flexibility in work arrangement and may be performed on-site, hybrid, or remotely ONLY for residents in NY, NJ, or PA. Training must take place in our Endwell, NY headquarters.
What You'll Do
- Process incoming and outgoing, domestic and international wire transfers accurately and efficiently while meeting established service level expectations.
- Monitor wire activity for exceptions, trends, operational concerns, and potential fraud risks, escalating issues as needed.
- Serve as a resource for branches and internal departments by answering wire-related questions and providing operational guidance.
- Partner with People & Culture and business partners to support training efforts and improve organizational knowledge of wire transfer operations.
- Support internal and external audits and collaborate with Fraud and other departments to investigate suspicious wire activity.
- Maintain awareness of regulatory requirements, industry changes, and emerging payment and fraud trends.
- Participate in payment-related projects, process improvements, system enhancements, and strategic initiatives.
- Provide backup operational coverage and support changing business needs, priorities, and departmental responsibilities.
What Success Looks Like
- Wire transfers are processed accurately, securely, and within established service standards.
- Risk, fraud, and compliance concerns are identified early and escalated appropriately.
- Members and employees receive timely, knowledgeable support regarding wire transfer services.
- Audit results demonstrate strong operational controls and regulatory compliance.
- Training and support efforts improve organizational understanding of wire transfer processes and requirements.
- Operational improvements enhance efficiency, reduce risk, and strengthen the member experience.
- Internal partners view you as a dependable resource and subject matter expert for wire operations.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma with 1-3 years of related experience.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, Adobe products, and standard office technology.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment when handling sensitive information.
- Commitment to supporting a welcoming, inclusive environment and modeling Visions' mission and values.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree.
- Experience in financial services, electronic payments, wire transfer operations, or back-office processing.
- Experience supporting operational controls, audits, or compliance-related activities.
- Knowledge of wire transfer regulations, payment systems, fraud prevention practices, or banking operations.
