Summary:

The Epic Quality Assurance Analyst is responsible for applying Quality Assurance/Release Management concepts to test application changes, updates, and enhancements. This position will interact with Clinical, Revenue Cycle and Technical Leaders, Project Managers and Analysts. This position will also develop, evaluate, revise, apply and document quality assurance processes, methods, and test plans to inspect and test a variety of IS applications and workflows.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborates across project borders with other teams. Thinks outside the box and proposes practical solutions to issues. Communicates interdependencies with the appropriate leadership to proactively ensure quality and interoperability of design and configuration.
  • Identifies and seizes new opportunities, displays can-do attitude in good and bad times, steps up to handle tough issues.
  • Clearly understands expectations. Accurately documents processes and workflows; communicates these with project team and stakeholders. Maintains a working level understanding of assigned workflow, processes, and environment.
  • Able to ask the right questions to obtain understanding of workflow in support of QA processes. Seeks information from others when issues appear to pose significant risks.
  • Provides clear and organized status reporting on key project areas to be used as external communications to stakeholders.
  • Demonstrates a solid/working level of subject matter expertise in testing, proactively works to improve and obtain new expertise in different workflows. Utilizes training, web site and general resource materials regularly and effectively.
  • Demonstrates decision making based on facts (vs assumptions); Routinely researches multiple avenues to identify viable options. Contributes to strategy discussions by identifying options with associated pros and cons wit team members.
  • Able to recognize he/her skills, habits, work ethic, and behaviors and use them to manage his/her work. Associate is able to receive and process constructive feedback and affect adjustments to his/her skills, habits, work ethics or behaviors in a positive way.
  • Demonstrates core proficiency in QA processes. Has a basic understanding of integrated healthcare information systems, and demonstrated project management skills for application testing efforts.
  • Applies basic understanding of information technology, including systems, applications, operations, and testing. Adheres to IS standards/protocols.
  • Completes task with attention to detail and high level of quality. Performs self-review process prior to sending to supervisor. Testing efforts require minimal additional QA by peer or lead.
  • Manages low to medium complexity QA processes. Collaborates with team members as needed.
  • Performs basic QA process analysis, including test script modification as needed. Responsible for completing basic gap analysis and providing recommendations.
  • Serves as the central point of contact for assigned QA processes. Independently works with external vendors in resolving issues and coordination as needed. Ensures vendors meet agreed upon timelines and follow processes.

Requirements:

Education/Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in an Information Systems related field or 4 years of related IT/Operational experience in a Healthcare environment.
  • Epic application proficiency or certification preferred
Experience
  • 2+ years in clinical or revenue cycle operations
Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications
  • Epic application proficiency or certification preferred

8AM - 5PM Monday-Friday
