Responsibilities:

JOB SUMMARY
The NEUROLOGIST-Ophthalmology and Otology provides direct patient care in accordance with evidence based treatment guidelines. He/she will deliver neurological care for Ophthalmology and Otology in a team-centered approach; interact with patients and families keep them informed and engaged in the decisions and direction of health care; provide counseling education and resource information on wellness, prevention of illness and health maintenance; and refer patients as appropriate for specialty care services and educational training for their conditions.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Provide direct patient care to patients at the practice site in accordance with evidence based treatment guidelines for Ophthalmology and Otologyin a neurology office setting. Delivers specialized care and provides consultative services as requested by primary care and other subspecialist physicians. Interacts with patients and families to keep them informed and engaged in the decisions and direction of their health care. Provides counseling education and resource information on wellness, prevention of illness and health maintenance. Refers patients as appropriate for specialty care services and educational training as appropriate for their conditions. Clinical responsibilities include care of patients in an outpatient setting. Primary focus will be the care and treatment of patients with Ophthalmologist and Otologist, but may involve the treatment of patients with generalized neurological disorders.
  • Drives program development, research and outreach for the foundation and community. Work with district physician referral committees to provide appropriate and timely access to neurological care for Ophthalmologist and Otologist. Acts in a fiscally responsible manner. Strives to deliver value (quality/cost) to the patient by giving the right care by the right individual at the right time.
  • Participates in improving perceived and actual access to care for patients through participation in process improvement and Ophthalmology and Otology program development to deliver and improve efficiencies of care delivery in the office setting to utilize "top of license" care by the office team. Participates in clinical integration within HonorHealth, working with care managers, and coordinating transition of care to specialists and inpatient services.
  • Maintains, monitors and ensures accurate and timely documentation of patient encounter records to meet criteria set forth by HonorHealth coding guidelines, CMS, HIPAA and other governmental regulations. Attends regular meetings and events.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION
  • Doctorate M.D. or D.O Required
EXPERIENCE
  • Other Member of HH Medical Staff, Board Certified or eligible Required
  • Other Completion of fellowship training for Ophthalmology and Otology Required
LICENSE AND CERTIFICATIONS
  • Board Certified Physician - Certification Current Arizona or other compact state medical license Required
