Work Shift:

8hr-3rd Shift (United States of America) Night Shift: 7:00PM - 7:30AM
Pay Rate: $20.50/hr. (base pay rate) + $1.00/hr. (shift premium)

Altium Packaging is one of the largest plastic container companies and suppliers of rigid plastic packaging. We specialize in customized mid- and short-run packaging solutions and serve a diverse customer base in the pharmaceutical, dairy, household chemicals, food/nutraceuticals, industrial/specialty chemicals, water, and beverage/juice segments.

We are currently seeking an experienced, reliable Forklift Driver for our Phoenix, AZ location. As a Forklift Operator, you will be responsible for operating a forklift truck to stack and retrieve supplies and materials, as well as following our company's Good Manufacturing Practices.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Ensure compliance with corporate and plant safety standards and with applicable laws and regulations issued by regulatory agencies

  • Operate forklift to load trucks and secure products in accordance with customer requirements

  • Load and unload materials onto or off pallets, skids, or lifting device

  • Monitor material usage on work floor and supply production lines with raw materials

  • Receive, store and distribute raw materials and supplies to designated staging areas

  • Visually inspect materials and report discrepancies in quality

  • Inventory product as needed.

  • Transport scrapped materials from production line to the grinder area

  • Maintain cleanliness of assigned work area, ramp, dock and compactor area

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required

  • 3-5 years' experience driving forklift

  • Ability to navigate and understand basic computer programs

  • Possess basic knowledge of English and math

  • Must be able to meet deadlines and maintain a balance between multiple projects; fast-paced environment; and stressful circumstances

  • Ability to work overtime

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES & REGISTRATIONS:

  • Current OSHA forklift driving certification

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts in a production environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. Temperatures inside the plant can fluctuate between hot and cold according to seasonal changes. Personal protective equipment (PPE) is required in the production department and other designated areas.
