POSITION SUMMARY

The Business Analyst is responsible for supporting the commercial and operational goals of the organization through in-depth analysis of customer contracts, pricing structures, and margin performance. This role plays a key part in ensuring profitable growth by developing financial models, improving pricing accuracy, and supporting contract execution. The position works closely with sales, finance, supply chain, and systems teams to align pricing strategies with customer expectations and operational capabilities within the fastener distribution industry.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Analyze excess and obsolete (E&O) inventory associated with customer contracts and product profitability and partner with Sales, Operations, and Supply Chain to support prevention and resolution efforts.
  • Serve as the primary business partner to sales and operations teams in reviewing and supporting customer contract terms, pricing logic, and cost structures.
  • Analyze customer and product-level profitability, monitor margin performance, and provide recommendations for pricing adjustments.
  • Develop financial models and scenario analyses to support customer negotiations, contract renewals, and strategic pricing decisions.
  • Maintain and monitor contract records, including escalation terms, rebate programs, and expiration timelines.
  • Ensure accurate pricing setup and maintenance in ERP and pricing systems in compliance with contract terms.
  • Track pricing compliance and support issue resolution related to customer pricing disputes or invoice errors.
  • Collaborate with IT, pricing, and finance teams to define and enhance system rules and logic supporting margin and pricing accuracy.
  • Support the standardization of contract and pricing processes and documentation across business units.
  • Provide monthly and quarterly reporting packages related to contract utilization, customer margins, and pricing effectiveness.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities or process improvements that enhance pricing performance and contract efficiency.
  • Act as a subject matter expert for contract structures, pricing tools, and margin analytics.
  • Participate in testing and implementation of pricing and ERP system enhancements.
  • Support training and communication efforts related to pricing policy, customer contract terms, and system usage.
  • Perform other duties as required to support departmental and business objectives.
  • Other duties as assigned



EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & ABILITIES



  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Supply Chain, or related field required; advanced coursework or certifications in analytics or pricing preferred, or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in business analysis, pricing, contracts, or sales operations, preferably in distribution or manufacturing supporting OEM clients.
  • Strong knowledge of margin analysis, pricing strategy, and contract lifecycle management.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel (including pivot tables, lookups, and formulas); Power BI or similar analytics tools preferred.
  • Experience working with ERP systems (SAP preferred), including pricing modules and data structures.
  • Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and develop actionable insights.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present to sales, finance, and executive leadership.
  • Highly organized and able to manage multiple priorities with minimal supervision.
