Corrections Stock Clerk - SCI Waymart, Correctional Industries

As a Corrections Stock Clerk for the Pennsylvania Department of Corrections, you will contribute directly to the success of facility operations. This role allows you to take ownership of inventory processes while helping inmate workers develop important skills. This position supports critical operations by guiding inmate workers and maintaining accurate control of materials, supplies, and equipment. As a Corrections Stock Clerk, you will perform the following duties:

• Inmate Oversight: Train and monitor inmate workers in shipping tasks, record keeping, and equipment use
• Inventory Control: Receive, store, and track materials and prepare requisitions for needed supplies
• Equipment Operation: Operate vehicles and machinery to move heavy items and support workflow needs
• Safety Enforcement: Maintain a secure work area, manage tool inventory, and search inmates and workspaces for contraband
• Reporting Duties: Prepare routine reports related to attendance, production, and inventory activities

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

• Full-time employment, 40 hour work week
• Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
• Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
• Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $44,524.00 (before taxes).
• This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

• One year of stockroom, warehouse, retail sales, or clerical experience; or
• An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Special Requirement:

• You must possess an active motor vehicle license.

Additional Requirements:

• Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
• You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirement:

• You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
