Overview This position will support the TRC implementation of residential energy efficiency and the Home Comfort program on Long Island. The Home Comfort Outreach Consultant manages a group of contractor (program partner) accounts and is primarily responsible for their production (number of applications submitted) as well as the quality of submittals. The position draws on related HVAC industry experience and residential heat pump system knowledge, with Quality Installation working knowledge to ensure consistent program implementation and to provide partner support. Strong time management skills, with an ability to prioritize, effectively communicate, and professionally represent our electric utility client are required to ensure success in a multi-faceted environment. Candidates will need to be focused on meeting and exceeding key performance indicators (KPIs) and directly impacting the performance of the program.
The Home Comfort Outreach Consultant will be responsible for supporting daily program operations and serve as the main point of contact for participating program partners. The successful candidate will act as a liaison with dealers/distributors, manufacturers, program management, planning, and other internal program teams. The Outreach Consultant is responsible for delivering on assigned heat pump conversion goals by supporting the existing network of partners and recruiting new partners into the program. In addition, the position will complete project reviews to support processing. This position provides partner support with project submittals and Manual J reports, contributes to program outreach and works with and supports internal and external program resources.
Responsibilities will also include raising industry awareness and participation from the
trades/distributors as needed to meet program goals. This includes outreach to HVAC contractors, distributors, manufacturers and related industry partners to increase program awareness, support recruitment efforts and activities needed for program participation goals. This includes contractor recruitment efforts, program presentations to the industry, trades, residential consumers, and various utility events and forums.
Responsibilities * Apply HVAC principles, concepts, practices, and standards to support program objectives
* Monitor customer relationship management (CRM) database dashboards
* Perform in-person visits to assigned partners
* Achieve assigned KPIs
* Provide timely partner support as needed
* Attend and participate in internal and external training sessions
* Participate in marketing events (many will be evenings and weekends)
* Assist in the development of program collateral
* Work with internal teams and partners to facilitate project submittals and review of documentation required for processing and project completions.
* Support weekly partner Open House events
* Present program details to audiences for recruitment, training, and participation requirements
* Work in a collaborative manner with TRC's utility client to ensure the program activities meet all contractual obligations with a high level of customer satisfaction
* Utilize our CRM database to manage partner interaction and to document all related interactions
* Identify and attend industry functions and meetings for recruitment and awareness efforts
* Assess project issues and collaboratively develop resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals/objectives
* Provide on-site training resources to assigned partners
Qualifications Business acumen to include a working knowledge and understanding of HVAC industry marketing, and operational functions required to make sound program recommendations. Ability to independently develop presentations and related program collateral for presentation to TRC management, clients, and industry trades.
* A degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Microsoft software experience, including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Copilot
* Ability to learn, understand and apply energy efficiency principles and mathematical models.
* Ability to multi-task to support concurrent priorities.
* Aptitude to effectively communicate, schedule meetings, and track tasks through completion.
* Proven ability to perform well in a team environment.
* Applicants will be required to have a valid NYS driver's license and a safe driving history.
* Must be available off hours and weekends as needed to support events on an as needed basis
Desired skills:
* Demonstrated success in developing and maintaining customer, client, and vendor relationships
* Professional presence with desire to improve processes and exceed program savings goals
* Experience with using AI tools and/or Manual J software
* Strong time management skills and a demonstrated ability to work in an independent manner and as part of a team.
* Aptitude for Microsoft Dynamics and/or other related CRM software
* Aptitude for Microsoft SharePoint
* Ability to apply building science principles and BPI methodologies to support heat pump adoption, system design, contractor training, and customer outcomes.
* Understanding of MS Copilot and ability to create and leverage AI agents to perform tasks

Compensation: In accordance with local law, the below salary range is applicable for the job and location associated with this requisition. Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, geographical location, and other compensable factors. Other Compensation:Employee may be eligible for participation in the Company's annual Discretionary Bonus Program which is contingent on Company, Business Segment, and Individual performance against Key Performance Indicators which vary by year and employee.
