Job Title: Phlebotomist II

Location: 10945 George mason Circle Suite 105 Manassas Virginia 20110 (IOP)

Will work at 8640 Sudley Rd Manassas VA (PSC) when not needed at the IOP

Orientation and training: Chantilly for orientation, 2 nd week at PSC in Manassas

Duration: 3 Months

Schedule: Mon-Fri 8am-5pm

Vaccines required:

Varicella, MMR, Hep B (candidate can decline) TB and color vision is required.

Position Overview

The ideal candidate will have experience performing venipunctures in a fast-paced laboratory or hospital environment while maintaining exceptional patient care and specimen integrity.

Responsibilities

  • Perform venipuncture using straight and butterfly needles.
  • Collect, label, process, centrifuge, split, freeze, and package specimens according to established procedures.
  • Verify patient information and accurately match specimens with laboratory requisitions.
  • Explain specimen collection procedures to patients in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Maintain specimen integrity through proper handling, storage, and transportation.
  • Update patient information and document specimen collection accurately.
  • Perform equipment maintenance and decontamination as required.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, DEP, and laboratory safety regulations.
  • Answer phone calls and assist with laboratory-related inquiries.
  • Participate in required departmental training and maintain quality standards.


Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum 6 months of recent phlebotomy experience in a hospital or high-volume laboratory setting.
  • Overall 2-4 years of healthcare/phlebotomy experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in venipuncture using straight and butterfly needles.
  • Experience processing and handling laboratory specimens.
  • Basic Microsoft Office skills.
  • Strong communication and patient care skills.
  • Valid Phlebotomy Certification if required by state regulations.
