Job summary

The Mechanical Engineer II is responsible for the design, development, and implementation of mechanical systems and components. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to innovate, improve, and optimize products and processes.

Responsibilities



  • Design and develop mechanical components, systems, and assemblies using CAD software and engineering principles.
  • Conduct engineering analyses, simulations, and tests to validate designs, ensure performance, and mitigate risks.
  • Collaborate with product design, manufacturing, and quality assurance teams to meet design requirements and specifications.
  • Evaluate and select materials, components, and suppliers based on performance, cost, and reliability.
  • Participate in design reviews, brainstorming sessions, and problem-solving activities to address design challenges and optimization opportunities.
  • Support prototyping, testing, and validation activities, including designing and fabricating test fixtures and prototypes.
  • Document design specifications, engineering drawings, test plans, and reports in compliance with industry standards and regulations.


Qualifications



  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in mechanical engineering or product design focused on mechanical systems and components.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and engineering analysis tools (e.g., Finite Element Analysis).
  • Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles including statics, dynamics, thermodynamics, and materials science.
  • Experience with product development processes including design, prototyping, testing, and validation.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex technical problems and develop innovative solutions.
  • Effective communication skills to present technical information clearly and concisely.


Preferred Skills



  • Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • Experience with product lifecycle management (PLM) software and tools.
  • Familiarity with design for manufacturability (DFM) and design for assembly (DFA) principles.
  • Knowledge of regulatory standards applicable to mechanical engineering (e.g., ASME, ISO).
  • Experience with mechatronics, robotics, or electromechanical systems.
  • Previous experience in manufacturing or product development environment is a plus.
