What You'll Do:
  • Specify, evaluate, and validate control system requirements with key stakeholders, capturing supporting evidence, use cases, design constraints, and quality, safety, and security attributes.
  • Develop mathematical models and simulations to analyse functional behaviour and demonstrate that control system designs meet validated requirements.
  • Design, review, and execute control system tests, including targeted testing to support investigations, issue resolution, and customer-related concerns.
  • Work closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams to understand component capabilities, support effective system integration, and ensure identified hazards are appropriately addressed.
  • Produce technical reports and build, share, and apply engineering knowledge to support project teams and continuously improve control system development practices.
Job Requirements
What You'll Bring:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering.
  • 2+ years of experience in control systems engineering, including design and validation.
What Sets You Apart:
  • Working knowledge of aircraft engine interfaces, component technology, and behavior during normal and abnormal operation, and software and hardware development process constraints.
  • A working appreciation of associated engineering disciplines.
  • Proficient in design and analysis tools.
  • Professional courage to highlight areas of concern and risk about the suitability of a product to meet its requirements in a safe and functionally appropriate way.
  • An ability to interpret test results and provide an informed opinion or conclusion as to the outcome of the analysis.
  • This includes an understanding of measurement uncertainty.
  • A demonstrated ability to manage tasks to completion, ensuring that the relevant areas of the business are appropriately informed.
  • An ability to identify and manage risk in collaboration with team members.
  • Self-motivated, with keen attention to detail.
  • Good problem-solving skills and an ability to understand the level of analysis needed.
  • Good time management skills, able to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
  • Good written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills, able to communicate ideas in both technical and user-friendly language.
  • Able to research application issues and products by being outward-focused and able to seek solutions/information from outside of the immediate area, including suppliers, universities, customers, and related industries.
  • Skilled at working within a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
  • Experience with ARP4754A or DO-178C.
