At CCFBank, our Mortgage Loan Officers serve as trusted advisors, guiding customers through every step of the mortgage process while developing new business opportunities and partnering with real estate professionals throughout the market. This role combines consultative sales, financial analysis, and exceptional customer service to deliver lending solutions that meet our customers' needs and support the growth of the Bank.

What You'll Do: You'll cultivate referral networks, develop new business relationships, originate residential mortgage loans, and provide expert guidance to borrowers from application through closing. As a key representative of the Bank, you'll collaborate with internal partners and community stakeholders to create an outstanding customer experience while ensuring compliance with all lending regulations and Bank policies.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Develops and cultivates new business relationships through proactive business development efforts.
  • Identifies opportunities to expand customer relationships by cross-selling banking products and services and referring clients to appropriate internal partners as needed. Reinforces the application of superior customer service through their own example along with appropriate follow-through with involved customers and colleagues.
  • Establishes and maintains a close working relationship with mortgage and title companies, contractors, builders, appraisers, real estate agents and other real estate industry professionals.
  • Conducts comprehensive interviews with prospective borrowers and existing customers to gather required financial and personal information and guide them through the loan application process.
  • Evaluates customer needs and recommends appropriate lending solutions, including loan terms, interest rates, and repayment options.
  • Follows up with applicants to clarify, verify, and resolve questions related to application information, ensuring a seamless and efficient lending experience. Conducts borrower prequalification assessments and analyzes financial information to evaluate creditworthiness and repayment capacity.
  • Assesses lending opportunities and associated risks in alignment with the Bank's credit policies, risk management standards, and prevailing economic and industry conditions.
  • Orders and reviews credit reports, flood zone determinations, and desktop underwriting findings to support sound lending decisions and ensure compliance with underwriting requirements. Authorizes commitment and decline letters.
  • Obtains sufficient information and/or documentation from customers, and solves problems related to processing and servicing of loans within their portfolio.
  • Develops and maintains an advanced knowledge of financial industry, economy, market conditions, rates, vendors and competition and remains informed of trends and developments in local market and changes to regulations governing private and government issued mortgages.
  • Represents the Bank in various community, civic, and community reinvestment functions to further enhance the Bank's image and develop additional business and assists the Bank in establishing and maintaining market position in the financing arena.
  • Assures compliance with all Bank policies, procedures and processes, and all applicable state and federal banking laws, rules and regulations; adheres to Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) responsibilities that are specific to the position.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

  • Three (3) years of directly related full-time experience in the mortgage industry (FHA, VA, conventional, etc.).
  • Five (5) years of experience in the financial services industry (accounting, lending, finance)
