Manager, Technical Product Delivery - Software Engineering

As a Manager of Software Engineering, you will lead a team responsible for building and modernizing technology that supports our Claim Intelligence Solutions. These solutions play an important role in how healthcare claims are evaluated and priced, and the team is bringing multiple capabilities together into a more modern, integrated technology ecosystem.

This is an opportunity to lead both people and delivery while working with modern technologies and AI-enabled engineering practices. You will guide a primarily distributed engineering team, partner closely with Product, Architecture, Quality, SRE, and other stakeholders, and help take products from prioritization and development through release and production support.

You will join at an important stage of the team's evolution, helping build strong engineering practices, develop talent, and deliver modern solutions using technologies including .NET, React, microservices, containers, Kubernetes, CI/CD, and AI-assisted development.

What You'll Do

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

• Lead and develop a distributed team of software engineers and quality engineering professionals through coaching, performance management, career development, and clear accountability.

• Drive delivery of software products from planning and prioritization through development, testing, release, and production support, ensuring teams deliver high-quality outcomes.

• Partner with Product, Architecture, Quality, SRE, and business stakeholders to translate priorities into achievable delivery plans and proactively manage dependencies, risks, and tradeoffs.

• Guide to technical execution by maintaining a strong understanding of application architecture, development practices, CI/CD pipelines, cloud and container environments, and deployment processes while partnering with technical experts on solution design.

• Champion modern engineering practices across .NET, React, microservices, DevOps/DevSecOps, automated testing, CI/CD, Kubernetes, containers, and related technologies to improve quality, scalability, and delivery effectiveness.

• Advance AI-enabled engineering practices by helping teams responsibly use approved AI tools, agents, and automation to improve development, testing, documentation, troubleshooting, and overall team productivity.

• Own production readiness by ensuring applications meet quality, security, performance, observability, and supportability expectations before release and by actively participating in production support when issues arise.

• Build a culture of continuous improvement by using delivery, quality, operational, and engineering insights to strengthen team performance, technical health, reliability, and customer outcomes.

What You Will Bring

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

• Seven or more years of progressive experience in software engineering, quality engineering, technical delivery, or a related technology discipline.

• Three or more years of people-management experience leading technical professionals, including coaching, performance management, career development, and building accountable teams.

• Demonstrated experience leading software teams and owning delivery from planning and prioritization through release and production support.

• Strong technical understanding of modern software-development and delivery environments, including .NET/C#, React, APIs, microservices, CI/CD, DevOps, containers, Kubernetes, and deployment practices.

• Experience partnering with Product and technical stakeholders to understand priorities, translate them into delivery plans, and communicate risks and tradeoffs.

• Experience supporting production releases and assessing operational readiness, quality, and technical risk.

• Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills, including the ability to work effectively across distributed and cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience leading geographically distributed or offshore engineering teams.

• Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or OCI and technologies such as ASP.NET, .NET Core, Web API, SQL Server, event-driven architecture, Azure Service Bus, RabbitMQ, Helm, or Playwright.

• Experience with AI-assisted software-development tools, AI agents, or workflow automation and an understanding of responsible human oversight of AI-generated outputs.

• Experience leading applications, platforms, cloud, or DevSecOps modernization efforts.

• Experience using engineering and delivery metrics to improve quality, reliability, delivery flow, and team effectiveness.

• Experience within healthcare, health technology, claims, or another regulated or data-sensitive environment.

Compensation

The salary range for this position is $150,000-$160,000.

Actual compensation is based on experience, skills, education, work location, and internal equity. This position may also be eligible for incentive compensation and the comprehensive benefits outlined in the My Total Value section.
