Langley Federal Credit Union is currently hiring for a Full Time Senior Payment Operations Representative to work hybrid from our City Center Headquarters, located in Newport News, VA.

Job Summary:

The Senior Payments Representative serves as the primary resource for the Payments area within the Operations department. The Senior Payments Representative offers expertise and support for staff and members and serves as Subject Matter Experts for organizational projects. Acts as mentor for Payments Representatives. They are required to understand applicable regulations and requirements to meet compliance standards. Reviews and completes a variety of requests, to include escalations, received from internal and external members within identified service level expectations. The Senior Payments Representative possesses a general knowledge of all Operations' areas to assist, when needed.

Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities:



  • Serves as primary training resource for internal teams and Payments Representatives.
  • Serves as a source of escalation for Payment Operations Representatives to assist with decision making, member situations, and compliance translation.
  • Performs all tasks/rotations within the Payment Operations Team.
  • Processes moderately complex ACH and wire transactions in compliance with federal regulations, internal guidelines, and within established deadlines.
  • Serves as an expert regarding applicable compliance requirements to include but not limited to NACHA and federal regulations.
  • Processes and completes ACH Origination requests.
  • Repairs and processes check and remote deposit capture items for posting.
  • Reviews and determines outcome of all Payments exceptions in accordance with applicable compliance rules and regulations.
  • Reviews and processes fraud and forgery claims and adjustments for all payment channels in accordance with applicable network compliance rules and regulations.
  • Completes activities associated with balance settlement an general ledger accounts.
  • Submits and approves files to the Federal Reserve.
  • Reviews and processes service cases pertaining to member requests.
  • Applies and communicates knowledge of regulatory requirements, practices, and changes to legislation.
  • Fosters teamwork by professionally interacting with peers, supervisors, vendors, and Langley employees.
  • Provides internal and external members impeccable service by phone, Customer Relationship Management cases, Online Banking messaging, and email.
  • Participates in continued education in accordance with applicable federal, state, and industry laws, regulations, and guidelines.


Qualifications:



  • Two years of experience with a financial institution required.
  • One year of payments experience preferred.
  • Accredited ACH Professional Certification preferred after meeting recommended payments experience.


Targeted Pay Range - $19.90 - $24.62 based on qualifications and experience
