Process Technology Training Specialist - Central Campus
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Supports the success and growth of the CPET Incumbent Workforce Training program through the delivery of technical workforce training, curriculum development, laboratory support, and client engagement activities that address current and future workforce needs across the process manufacturing industries.
Essential Job Functions:
- Delivers incumbent workforce training programs in process technology, process safety management, industrial operations, and related workforce development subjects.
- Develops, revises, and customizes training materials, assessments, and curriculum to support client and industry workforce needs.
- Facilitates classroom, laboratory, simulator, and hands-on training activities while maintaining a safe and effective learning environment.
- Maintains instructional equipment, laboratories, training aids, and training materials to support program delivery.
- Evaluates training effectiveness and recommends improvements to training content, instructional methods, and program delivery.
- Conducts CPET facility tours and supports client engagement, program planning, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Additional Job Functions:
- Actively participates in college meetings and/or committees, task forces, and councils.
- Participates in business and community activities that foster goodwill and promote the mission and values of the college.
- Participates in activities required to maintain program and college accreditation standards
- Performs other duties, special projects, and activities as assigned in support of CPET and College initiatives.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to demonstrate the College values
- Extensive knowledge of process technology, industrial operations, process safety, and workforce development topics applicable to the process manufacturing industries. * Strong understanding of Process Safety Management (PSM) principles and operational excellence practices.
- Ability to effectively instruct adult learners in classroom, laboratory, simulator, and hands-on environments
- Strong presentation, facilitation, and communication skills.
- Ability to adapt training materials to meet varying client and industry needs.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and learning management systems.
- Ability to operate and maintain industrial training equipment and laboratories
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work occasional evenings, weekends, and off-site client locations.
Required Education:
- Associate degree or higher from an accredited institution.
Preferred Education:
- Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited institution.
Required Experience:
- Ten (10) years of industrial experience in refining, petrochemical, chemical manufacturing, LNG, energy, pharmaceutical manufacturing, or related process industries.
- Demonstrated technical expertise in process operations, operating procedures, process equipment, troubleshooting, industrial safety, and Process Safety Management (PSM).
Preferred Experience:
- Experience as an instructor, trainer, mentor, or subject matter expert.
- Experience delivering workforce, corporate, technical, or operator qualification training programs.
- Experience developing curriculum, assessments, and training materials.
- Experience utilizing simulators, laboratory training equipment, or other industrial learning technologies.
Preferred Licenses/Certifications:
- Process Technology Certificate.
- OSHA, PSM, or other industry-recognized safety certifications.
- Relevant operator, maintenance, process safety, engineering, or instructional certifications.
