Hill International is seeking a Quality Assurance Inspectors - Civil in Austin, Texas

We are seeking experienced Quality Assurance Inspectors to support ongoing infrastructure improvements at AUS. These roles are critical to ensuring quality, safety, and compliance with contract documents and applicable codes. Inspectors will be responsible for field verification, documentation, and coordination with contractors and stakeholders throughout the construction lifecycle.


  • Conduct field inspections to verify conformance with approved contract documents and applicable codes.
  • Review contractor work for compliance with specifications, manufacturer instructions, and regulatory standards.
  • Coordinate daily activities with third-party inspectors and project stakeholders, including AUS Operations, Environmental teams, City inspectors, and AUS personnel.
  • Document deficiencies and communicate findings to the Contractor and CDS inspectors in a timely manner.
  • Support Construction Managers in verifying installed quantities for Pay Applications.
  • Maintain accurate daily inspection reports detailing work reviewed and observations made.
  • Participate in change management processes and assist in schedule evaluations.
  • Navigate and utilize project documentation including design drawings, specifications, Design Standards Manual, and contract terms.
  • Site Inspections: Perform daily field checks on civil and structural works, including airfield pavements, grading, foundations, and utility installations.
  • Verify that contractor workmanship, materials, and testing protocols match approved specifications and contract submittals.
  • Record daily construction activities, track completed work quantities, and file electronic daily reports.
  • Monitor active airside or landside safety practices and immediately report any non-conforming or hazardous conditions.
  • Communicate with project managers, contractors, and airport operations teams to minimize disruptions to the traveling public.
  • Occasional night-time work may be required based on project demands
  • Minimum five (5) years of construction inspection experience, with a strong focus on airfield or heavy civil infrastructure.
  • Demonstrated aviation-related construction experience, including work on taxiways, runways, terminals, and underground utilities.
  • Experience in Bluebeam, Microsoft Office Suite, Procore, SharePoint, Primavera P6
  • Ability to pass a TSA criminal history background check.
  • In-depth knowledge of environmental codes and regulatory requirements.
  • Familiarity with discipline-specific codes and standards (e.g., NEC, IMC, IPC, SMACNA, IBC, IEEE).
  • Ability to interpret and coordinate with third-party inspection reports.
  • Strong understanding of contract documents, technical specifications, and design standards.
  • Valid Driver's License
