Are you a highly skilled designer ready to make a significant impact on complex engineering projects? We are seeking a talented and driven individual to join our dynamic engineering team. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in transforming conceptual designs into tangible realities, directly supporting our engineers and managers by providing essential 3D models, detailed drawings, and accurate Bills of Material. Your work will ensure the precision, reliability, and safety of mechanical, piping, and structural components for advanced data center modules, playing a crucial part in the success of our projects and the satisfaction of our customers.

Responsibilities



  • Provide and meticulously check drawings and Bills of Material (BOM) to meet precise customer requirements.
  • Prepare bulk Material Take Offs (MTOs) and detailed BOMs with a high degree of independence.
  • Ensure all drawings adhere strictly to established Engineering and Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) standards.
  • Develop and complete a wide array of mechanical, piping, and structural deliverable drawings and documents, including but not limited to: piping layout/general arrangements, piping isometrics, piping schedules, piping tie-point/interface drawings, piping insulation details, structural general arrangement drawings, structural weld details/notes, structural connection detail drawings, foundation support details, equipment mounting/support details, pipe support details, weight/Center of Gravity (COG) reports, manual valve lists, HVAC ducting, instrumentation, flow diagrams, Process and Instrument Diagrams, pump alignment drawings, handrails/ladders, walkways, and stairs (compliant with OSHA), and platform/grating detailed drawings.
  • Supervise outsourced engineering design work performed by third-party engineering and design firms.
  • Review vendor data and drawings as needed to ensure full compliance with client specifications and applicable industry standards.
  • Generate report data from models and assist in providing necessary design information to project teams, clients, and third parties.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement by providing "Lessons Learned" feedback and utilizing findings to update tools and procedures.
  • Resolve technical problems by identifying and selecting optimal solutions through acquired technical experience and factual analysis.


Required Skills and Experience



  • Technical Certification in a design discipline or a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical, piping, and structural scopes of work.
  • Demonstrated ability to produce clear and effective drawings and sketches to illustrate design concepts and ideas.
  • Mastery knowledge and proficiency in:

    • Microsoft Office 365 Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint)
    • PDF Editor (Adobe, Foxit, or other equivalent)
    • SolidWorks
    • Autodesk AutoCAD
    • Navisworks Manager / Freedom


  • Operational knowledge in:

    • SAP (ERP Tool with Engineering Modules and Transactions)
    • Autodesk Revit
    • Autodesk BIM 360


  • General knowledge of industry standards, codes, and regulations, including but not limited to: AHRI, ANSI, AWS, IBC, MFMA, MSS, OSHA, NFPA.
  • Fluency, both written and verbal, in English.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proven ability to perform well under pressure in high-stress environments and adapt quickly to changing priorities.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively within a cross-functional team.
  • Exceptional work ethic and a commitment to maintaining a high level of quality and due diligence.
  • Ability to organize and express complex ideas clearly in written documents and effectively in both individual and group situations.


Nice-to-Have Qualifications



  • Experience with high-density data centers and hyperscale environments.
  • Understanding of the purpose of electrical systems for facilities.
