Proven to Perform.
From the edges of space to the bottoms of ocean, our materials are proven to perform -- and so is our team. We're hiring high performers as proven as our products. Join us.

Drive Zero-Defect Manufacturing. Eliminate Waste. Transform Performance.

At ATI Millersburg, we're pushing toward zero-defect manufacturing-and this role sits at the center of that transformation.

As an Advanced Process Capability Engineer, you won't just analyze problems-you will eliminate them at the source. You will lead high-impact initiatives to reduce Cost of Quality (CoQ), stabilize complex manufacturing processes, and unlock measurable gains in yield, delivery performance, and customer satisfaction.

This is a role for someone who thrives on turning data into action, chaos into control, and recurring issues into permanently solved problems.

This isn't a support function - it's a performance-driving role. The work you do will directly impact cost, quality, and customer trust. If you're motivated by solving tough problems, making measurable impact, and driving real change on the shop floor, this is where you'll do it.

What You'll Do

  • Lead high-visibility CoQ reduction initiatives that directly improve profitability and operational performance
  • Drive Right First Time (RFT) and zero-defect strategies across critical production areas
  • Own complex process challenges-dig into scrap, rework, and OTD misses, and eliminate root causes permanently
  • Apply advanced problem-solving methodologies (DMAIC, PDCA, A3, 8D) to deliver sustainable results-not quick fixes
  • Use data as your weapon-leverage SPC, Cp/Cpk, DOE, and trend analysis to uncover hidden process variation
  • Turn insights into action by influencing cross-functional teams across operations, quality, and engineering
  • Facilitate Kaizen events and continuous improvement efforts that drive measurable cost and quality gains
  • Build and evolve performance dashboards and KPIs to make process health visible and actionable
  • Implement and sustain robust process controls to lock in performance gains and prevent recurrence
  • Contribute to automation and digital transformation initiatives that modernize manufacturing performance

What Success Looks Like

  • Measurable reduction in scrap, rework, and COPQ
  • Improved process capability and stability (Cp/Cpk)
  • Sustained gains in Right First Time (RFT) and On-Time Delivery (OTD)
  • Increased visibility and control of process performance through data and metrics
  • Long-term elimination of recurring quality issues

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Metallurgical, Chemical, Mechanical, Industrial, or similar)
  • 4-10+ years of experience in process, product, or quality engineering
  • Proven ability to solve complex manufacturing problems at the root cause level
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to convert data into decisions and results
  • Experience working cross-functionally in fast-paced production environments
  • Clear, confident communication-able to influence without authority

Preferences

  • Six Sigma Green Belt (or higher)
  • Experience with Minitab, Power BI, or similar tools
  • Familiarity with automation or digital manufacturing
  • Knowledge of aerospace/quality standards (AS9100, ISO 9001)
