The Sustaining Quality Engineer is responsible for supporting and maintaining quality systems to ensure compliance with internal standards, customer requirements, and applicable regulatory requirements. This role plays a critical part in managing nonconformances, driving corrective and preventive actions (CAPA), supporting audits, and ensuring adherence to product and process specifications.

The position partners closely with Operations and Product Engineering teams to ensure timely resolution of quality issues, minimize risk, and sustain a high level of product and process integrity.

Responsibilities

Support the review and disposition non-conforming material, ensuring proper documentation, risk assessment, and timely resolution

Lead and support corrective and preventive actions (CAPA), including root cause analysis, implementation, and effectiveness verification

Manage quality STOPS/SLAMS as needed to contain risk and protect product quality

Conduct and support internal, customer, and regulatory audits; ensure timely closure of audit findings

Track and report key quality system metrics, including nonconformance trends, CAPA effectiveness, and audit performance

Review product and process specifications to ensure compliance and proper interpretation in manufacturing

Ensure adherence to quality management systems (QMS) and applicable standards (e.g., ISO 9001, AS9100)

Support continuous improvement of quality systems, procedures, and documentation

Collaborate with Operations and Engineering to address quality issues and prevent recurrence

Train and guide personnel on quality requirements, procedures, and compliance expectations

Qualifications



  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Metallurgical, Chemical, Mechanical, Manufacturing or related field)
  • 3 - 8+ years of experience in quality engineering, quality systems, or manufacturing quality
  • Strong knowledge of nonconformance management, CAPA processes, and audits



Preferred Qualifications



  • Working knowledge of SA&C production processes
  • Familiarity with quality standards (AS9100, ISO 9001, etc.)
  • Experience with quality management systems and document control process

Salary Range: $92,000 to $146,900/annually
