You Are:

UST is searching for Lab Technicians to support reliability testing for a leading manufacturer in Hillsboro, Oregon. You will be working onsite at customer labs.

The opportunity:

* Reliability Test Execution

o Set up, load, start, monitor, and unload reliability stress tests like HTOL (high-temperature operating life), THB / THuB (biased and unbiased temperature-humidity), HTS (high-temperature storage), TC (temperature cycling) .. etc.

o Run wafer-level reliability tests on automated probers, strictly per the test requirements defined by engineers.

* Prober & Wafer Handling Operations

o Train and operate automated wafer probers; perform manual prober operations, alignment, and debug checks; teach new recipes and maintain existing ones as test requirements change.

o Manage wafer movement through the lab tracking systems so test operations run without gaps.

* Maintenance, Calibration & Troubleshooting

o Execute routine and minor preventive maintenance on stations, chambers, and instruments on schedule, using the site's PM tracking system.

o Triage station stoppages and act first-hand on hardware faults: cabling, contacts and connectors, chamber alarms and interlocks, instrument errors, prober faults.

o Escalate to lab engineers and the test-software team with the symptoms, actions already taken, and supporting data when an issue is beyond technician scope.

o Maximize lab output using constraint management: identify the bottleneck, keep it loaded, cut idle time between runs.

o Keep the lab inventory organized and safe, including cable management, consumables, spares, and labeling.

* Data Quality & Documentation

o Run and monitor jobs and work orders, and confirm data is collected exactly as the test requirement specifies.

o Check data completeness and flag anomalies before results reach the engineering team.

o Work precisely from standard operating procedures and specifications; document every deviation and non-standard processing.

o Maintain accurate records in Excel and in the lab's ticketing and tracking systems.

* Team & Continuous Improvement

o Train and cross-train fellow technicians on station setup, PMs, and prober operations as needed.

o Report station status, issues, and blockers to lab engineers and your reporting manager on a regular cadence.

o Support New Product Introduction (NPI) by preparing stations, wafer setups, and maps under engineering direction.

This position description identifies the responsibilities and tasks typically associated with the performance of the position. Other relevant essential functions may be required.

What you need:

* A minimum associate degree is strongly preferred. Candidates should hold an associate degree (AS / AA) in a technical field - electronics, electrical or mechanical technology, semiconductor technology, computer / IT, or a closely related discipline - or, in lieu of a degree, qualify through strong military technical experience plus some post-high-school education, or a high school diploma or GED equivalent plus more than 3 years of directly relevant hands-on experience.

* 1-3 years of hands-on work experience in a semiconductor lab, cleanroom, photonics lab, or electronics production environment.

* Working knowledge of ESD controls - grounding, handling, and packaging of ESD-sensitive devices.

* Proven ability to work to written procedures in a controlled environment, with records that hold up to audit.

* MS Office proficiency: Outlook, Excel (filters, sorting, basic formulas), Word, and PowerPoint.

* Preferred Skills:

* Bench & Assembly

* Basic electronic assembly tools (wire strippers, cutters, soldering irons, electric torque drivers, and screwdrivers); soldering and building or repairing test cables and harnesses; fine assembly and inspection under a stereo microscope; reading wiring diagrams, pinouts, and test setup drawings.

* Test & Measurement

* Familiarity with electronic test equipment (SMUs, DMMs, power supplies, oscilloscopes, waveform generators, optical sources, and power meters); environmental chamber profiles, alarms, and interlocks; launching, monitoring, and interpreting automated test software.

* Working Style

* Genuine multitasking across several stations, PMs, and work orders in a fast-paced production environment; precision and discipline through repetitive work; clear written and verbal communication with early escalation; dependable attendance on a compressed schedule.

* Preferred Qualifications:

* Strongly preferred - Minimum associate degree in a technical field; prior lab or manufacturing experience at a large semiconductor manufacturer; prior hands-on experience with automated wafer probers (like TEL, Cascade, or equivalent) and test instruments is a strong plus.

* Also valued - Direct exposure to reliability stress testing (HTOL, TC, THB / THuB, HAST, HTS); background in small electrical device manufacturing or assembly; experience with MES, work-order, or PM tracking systems; experience scheduling and managing external calibration vendors.

* Physical Requirements:

* This is a highly physical role. Candidates must be able to stand, walk, and move throughout the shift; lift and carry items weighing up to 30 lbs. perform repetitive-motion tasks; bend, reach, and work at bench height and inside equipment racks and chambers; and wear an ESD lab coat, conductive shoe straps, and safety glasses for the full shift.

Compensation can differ depending on factors including but not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set, education, and level of experience. UST provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired in various U.S. markets as set forth below.

Role Location: Oregon

Compensation Range: $48,000-$72,000

Benefits offerings vary in Puerto Rico.
