Pave America is a private equity-backed, multi-branch pavement and asphalt services platform growing rapidly through both organic initiatives and acquisition. Our Value Creation Team drives the programs that turn strategy into results - M&A integration, margin improvement, technology enablement, and operational excellence across a national branch network.
We acquire companies regularly, and every acquisition brings hundreds of integration tasks across finance, IT, HR, operations, safety, and systems. The Integration Manager is the execution engine for that work. Reporting to the VP of Value Creation, you will own the day-to-day project management of post-close integration - building the integration schedule, managing a task plan that can exceed 700 line items per deal, coordinating functional owners across the organization, and keeping every workstream on track and visible. The VP retains the primary seller relationship, integration strategy, and value creation plan design. Your job is to make the plan real: translate strategy into a sequenced schedule, run the operating cadence, chase down blockers, and give leadership an accurate, current picture of where every integration stands. You will also support execution of the value creation playbook with acquired-company leadership and contribute to broader value creation workstreams between deals.
Integration Project Management
- Build and maintain the master integration schedule for each acquisition, sequencing ~700 tasks across eight-plus functional workstreams (F&A, IT/systems, HR, operations, safety & insurance, fleet, sales, and communications)
- Run the integration operating cadence: weekly workstream check-ins, status reporting, milestone tracking, and escalation of blockers and decisions to the VP
- Coordinate functional owners across corporate and branch teams - assign tasks to named owners, confirm dependencies, and hold stakeholders accountable to dates
- Manage the diligence-to-integration handoff: convert pre-close findings, scorecards, and the value creation plan into an executable Day 1 / first-100-days / 12-month plan
- Track integration performance against plan - milestone completion, synergy capture, and dissynergy mitigation - and flag variances early
Value Creation Support
- Project manage execution of the value creation playbook with acquired-company leadership, supporting the VP who owns the primary seller relationship
- Support enterprise value creation workstreams between integrations - margin improvement programs, systems adoption, and operational playbook rollout
- Build and maintain dashboards and visual reporting (Power BI, Excel, or similar) that give executives and sponsors a clear, current view of integration and initiative status
Ways of Working
- Leverage AI tools daily to accelerate document synthesis, reporting, meeting preparation, and analysis - we expect this role to model modern, AI-enabled ways of working
- Work with large, messy datasets from multiple source systems; structure, analyze, and visualize them to drive decisions
- Travel to acquired-company locations and branches during active integrations to build relationships and verify progress on the ground
- 4-8 years of experience in project/program management, M&A integration, management consulting, or operations - ideally with exposure to post-merger integration or a PMO/IMO environment
- Demonstrated ability to run large, cross-functional task plans (hundreds of line items) with disciplined scheduling, dependency management, and follow-through
- Strong stakeholder management: comfortable driving accountability with functional leaders and field operators without direct authority
- Proficiency with large datasets and data visualization - advanced Excel required; Power BI (or equivalent) strongly preferred
- Hands-on proficiency with AI tools (e.g., Claude, Copilot) applied to real work product - not just familiarity
- Clear, concise written and verbal communication; able to produce executive-ready status materials
- Bachelor's degree required; PMP, Lean/Six Sigma, or similar certification a plus
- Experience in construction, industrial services, or another multi-site field services business a plus; private equity portfolio company experience a plus
- Willingness to travel up to 40% during active integration periods
**This is a 100% remote role with 25% travel.**
