Laboratory Central Processing Specialist

Inova Central Laboratory is looking for a dedicated Laboratory Central Processing Specialist to join the team. This is a full-time Day Shift: Monday to Friday and weekend if necessary.

Laboratory Central Processing Specialist Job Responsibilities:

  • Performs proper specimen/blood product collections by confirming patient/donor identification, collecting specimens in proper tubes, utilizing venipuncture/capillary techniques and accurately labeling specimen/blood products to ensure accurate patient results.

  • Provides excellent patient and customer service by using AIDET principles and ensuring that the correctness/quality of technical information and directions provided to customers is appropriate.

  • Manages specimen accessioning and processing accurately/efficiently to provide quality specimens for Laboratory testing.

  • Reviews registration and billing information accurately/efficiently to ensure regulatory compliance.

  • Communicates effectively and working cooperatively with team members to optimize job performance and foster working relationships.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Education: High School diploma or GED equivalent

  • Experience: 4 years of relevant experience in a clinical lab environment; 2 years of experience at Inova lab
