| Primary Purpose of the Organization: |
The Office of Military Affiliated Services exists to provide efficient and effective services to military-affiliated students through collaboration with deans, faculty, student services personnel, and other campus stakeholders. The office supports Student Enrollment and Student Success (
SESS) by coordinating academic support services for:
- Veterans
- Military dependents
- Fort Bragg-affiliated students
- Active-duty military students
The office also provides advising, counseling, and student support related to:
- Veteran Benefits
- Educational programs for military spouses and dependents, including MyCAA and
- GI Bill transferability
- *FSU Military Tuition Scholarship

| Primary Purpose of the Position: |
The Assistant Director of Military Affiliated Services serves as the liaison between federal and state agencies to ensure Fayetteville State University's compliance in administering nearly $3 million in veteran educational benefits.
The position:
- Supervises the Military Affiliated and Veterans' Student Resource Center
- Supports student veterans and their dependents through their transition to FSU
- Provides leadership in customer service and student support
- Maintains expertise in university curriculum, state and federal regulations, and veterans' benefit programs
- Works closely with academic advisors to support military-affiliated students.

| Minimum Education And Experience Requirements: |
Bachelor's degree and one year of experience related to the area of assignment; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions. |

Supervision: Managing work and performance of employees. |
| Preferred Qualifications: |
- Master's degree.
- Three to five years working in a leadership role at a 4-year institution, preferably in a student services area (advising, veterans' affairs, enrollment management, etc).
- Supervisory experience.
- Experience working with military-affiliated students (active duty, dependents, and veterans).
- Experience working with student information systems and report writing.
