Overview Omega Technical Services is seeking a WIPP Acceptable Knowledge (AK) Specialist to support the Acceptable Knowledge Organization within the Contact-Handled Transuranic Programs Department at Idaho National Laboratory in Idaho Falls, ID. This position is contingent upon contract award and/or project funding. Candidates may be identified, screened, and submitted prior to award. Employment offers and start dates are dependent upon successful contract award, funding authorization, and client approval. The successful candidate will extract, analyze, interpret and summarize Process Knowledge and Acceptable Knowledge information from multiple production, historical and document databases. This position supports investigations, issue resolution, waste-container qualification, regulatory compliance and technical-document development associated with contact-handled transuranic waste. The selected candidate must be capable of qualifying as a Waste Isolation Pilot Plant Acceptable Knowledge Expert. An AKE is primarily responsible for evaluating, summarizing and documenting historical information involving waste generators and generation processes at INL, as well as off-site generators that transferred transuranic waste to the laboratory. Run, develop and maintain Structured Query Language scripts to extract required information from multiple databases.
