Senior Project Controls Specialist - Position and Responsibilities As a Senior Project Controls Specialist with Middough, you will be responsible for planning, scheduling, cost engineering, and earned value analysis on assigned projects. In this role, you will also prepare and maintain engineering schedules, and occasionally broader procurement and construction schedules. You will generate performance status, and management reports to identify variances in work execution strategy. You will also be responsible for providing timely feedback to management, throughout the project cycle, with recommended solutions to improve or mitigate problems affecting cost, schedule or estimating issues. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: Lead and facilitate schedule progress reviews with engineering teams and input from other project stakeholders such as clients, vendors and construction contractors. Collaborate with lead Engineers and Project Managers to refine service and labor estimates into detailed P6 Level 4 execution schedules, utilizing an earned value management (EVM) suite to track progress and issue reports. Facilitate dynamic, in-person schedule planning workshops using interactive tools and apply forward and backward pass methodologies to optimize project timelines. Lead in the creation of Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) and development of schedules and budget data (including resource loading) for those WBS elements. Analyze unit rates and performance metrics to provide management team with guidance on performance to-date and estimate to completion. Compile schedule and cost data inputs into the project control database and interpret output results to guide decision making. Analyze schedule progress, performance and logic as well as identify developing problem areas. Advise management of risks that may affect project profit, costs, schedules, and client relations. Support the project management team in maintaining timely and effective change management processes, procedures, and systems. Lead the development and maintenance of periodic (daily, weekly, monthly) status reports to update management and client on the project progress. Participate in the project close out process including the evaluation of all subcontractors and major vendors. Make safety a priority in all planning and execution. Use Middough Advance Project Procedures (MAPP) as a tool for project implementation and to comply with procedural requirements. Education, Experience and Skills The successful candidate will possess the following: Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or business required. 8-10 years of experience in planning and sequencing of engineering, procurement and/or construction, activities. Hands-on project controls experience on engineering and/or construction projects required. Hands-on experience with Primavera Project Planner P6 (highly preferred) and/or MS Project required. Knowledge of cost engineering concepts related to budgeting, monitoring, and tracking actual costs, change orders and forecasting. Experience with Microsoft Office products (Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint), Microsoft Project, and VBA (highly preferred). Excellent interpersonal skills for effective, timely, and professional communication for collaboration and engagement with project teams. Ability to solve problems and use data analysis to make decisions. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and attention to detail abilities. Excellent multitasking and organizational abilities for project efficiency.
