What to Expect
The Residential Field Service Electrician will report to the Field Manager and provide diagnostic, troubleshooting, preventive and corrective maintenance services to Tesla's energy products including solar PV systems, batteries, and other energy products. The ideal candidate has electrical installation and servicing experience. Experience with residential solar PV systems is preferred but not required. A valid electrician license is required and must meet the licensing requirements of each state where work will be performed.

What You'll Do
  • Travel between service locations and customer sites, including overnight and up to two weeks at a time
  • Perform licensed electrical workrequiredfor residential energy service, including work that must be completed by a licensed electrician under applicable NEC, AHJ, and ratio requirements
  • Respond to corrective maintenance cases on solar PV systems, energy storage systems, and updating online case logs accurately while working safely andin accordance withTesla and industry standard safety requirements
  • Report writing, where required, tocomply withdeliverables in O&M contracts
  • Work closely with members of the Operations Engineering Systems Reliability team to respond to open case directions and provide datawhererequested
  • Prioritize conflicting work requests and escalations
  • Respond to customers' concerns with the performance or functionality of their system
  • Ensure the vehicle, tooling, electronics, software, and company property issued are always accounted for and taken care of

What You'll Bring
  • Valid electrician licenserequired. License must meet the licensing requirements of each state where work will be performed and remain in good standing
  • 1+ year electrical installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting experience preferred but notrequired. Experience with solar PV systems is preferred but notrequired
  • Proficiencyin residential electrical work and able to work with various ground and roof mount racking systems.Understanding ofNEC codes and knowledge of NFPA 70E practices. Experience installing inverters andPowerwallspreferred but notrequired
  • Ability to stay organized in a fast-paced environment with aggressive timelines while working independently and managing your own schedule. Comfortable making decisions independently and handling emergency situations with a calm and directed manner whileshowcasingexcellent customer service skills
  • Proficient working with spreadsheets, word processing, and computer-based applications (e.g.time tracking, case management, etc.)
  • Must be able to work at heights, climb ladders and stairs, lift heavy objects and work on your feet forlong periodsof time along with working in extreme environmentse.g.hot sun, below freezing etc. Bending, stooping, crawling, in confined spaces, working in limited illumination areas, working in dusty conditions arerequired
  • Ability to work well with others in a collaborative team environment and able to travel for up to 2 weeks at a time. Must have compliant government issued identification for domestic air travel and/or to access certain federal facilities
  • Valid driver's licenserequired

    Expected Compensation
    $26.98 - $56.26/hour + cash and stock awards + benefits

    Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
