Infectious Disease Physician in Beautiful Portland, Maine

MaineHealth Medical Group is seeking a full-time BC/BE Infectious Disease Physician to join our well-established, collegial, academic practice of twelve physicians in Portland, Maine. This position is designed for physicians who are passionate about the clinical practice of Infectious Diseases and offers the opportunity to provide comprehensive inpatient and outpatient care across the full spectrum of the specialty. This is primarily a clinical role with a focus on patient care and medical education.

Our team provided care for a diverse range of infectious diseases, including:

  • Solid organ transplant recipients (renal and heart);
  • Left ventricular assist device (LVAD) infections;
  • Hematologic and oncologic infections;
  • HIV medicine;
  • Vector-borne diseases;
  • Travel and refugee health; and,
  • Surgical and complex healthcare-associated infections.

  • This position offers the opportunity to practice the full breadth of clinical infectious disease medicine in a collaborative academic setting while remaining focused on direct patient care, teaching, and mentorship.

Qualifications:

  • MD/DO from an accredited medical school.
  • Fellowship training must be completed by an ACGME accredited program
  • Active and unrestricted State of Maine medical license, or ability to obtain prior to employment.
  • Board Certification/Eligibility in Infectious Disease
  • Active and unrestricted DEA license, or ability to obtain prior to employment.
