Reimagine What's Possible

The Site Supervisor is a front-line leadership role responsible for supporting the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of the Glenmont production and distribution facility. Reporting to the Site Manager, this position leads a team of Operators, Drivers, and Vehicle Mechanics while coordinating with logistics, maintenance, and technical support teams. The Site Supervisor is accountable for safety performance, operational reliability, employee development, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives. Success in this role requires strong leadership, effective communication, sound problem-solving skills, and the ability to support 24/7 operations while maintaining Air Products' commitment to safety, productivity, and customer service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and promote a strong safety culture by actively engaging employees in all aspects of Air Products' safety programs and procedures.

  • Ensure compliance with all company, environmental, health, safety, state, and federal regulations.

  • Provide leadership, coaching, training, and performance management for operations, distribution, and maintenance personnel.

  • Support the safe and efficient operation of the air separation unit, nitrogen liquefiers, distribution terminal, and fleet maintenance activities.

  • Coordinate daily operational activities to ensure reliable product production and delivery to customers throughout the Northeast region.

  • Identify operational and maintenance issues, develop corrective actions, and drive preventative maintenance improvements.

  • Lead and facilitate Management of Change (MOC) activities, including procedure development, review, and implementation.

  • Support plant reliability initiatives and partner with regional maintenance and technical support teams to improve equipment performance.

  • Drive continuous improvement projects focused on productivity, reliability, cost reduction, and operational excellence.

  • Interface with engineering, logistics, maintenance, regulatory agencies, contractors, and other support organizations.

  • Manage multiple reporting requirements, operational metrics, and compliance programs.

  • Participate in facility start-up, commissioning, expansion, and capital project activities as required.

  • Provide on-call support and respond to operational issues in a 24/7 manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma/GED with 5+ years of industrial plant, manufacturing, or operations experience required.

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical field preferred.

  • Previous supervisory or leadership experience preferred.

  • Experience in industrial gas, chemical, manufacturing, process plant, distribution, or maintenance operations preferred.

  • Demonstrated commitment to safety, environmental stewardship, and regulatory compliance.

  • Strong leadership, communication, coaching, and employee development skills.

  • Proven problem-solving and decision-making abilities in a dynamic operating environment.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively within a matrix organization.

  • Strong computer skills required; SAP experience preferred

The expected pay range is $84,100 - $140,050 plus bonus. This is the range that we reasonably expect to pay for this position as individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors
