What You'll Do:
  • Design, develop, test, and maintain software for embedded cryptographic and space-based systems.
  • Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, architecture, implementation, verification, and deployment.
  • Develop secure, reliable, and maintainable software solutions for mission-critical applications.
  • Collaborate with hardware, systems, and cybersecurity teams to integrate software into embedded platforms.
  • Support software troubleshooting, debugging, performance optimization, and system validation activities.
  • Apply software engineering standards, methodologies, and best practices throughout development efforts.
  • Contribute to Agile development activities, sprint planning, code reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Support innovation efforts by evaluating and implementing emerging technologies and development approaches.
Job Requirements
What You'll Bring:
  • Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related STEM field with 5+ years of relevant experience; or Master's degree with 3+ years of relevant experience.
  • 5+ years of experience developing software applications, embedded software, or firmware solutions.
  • 3+ years of experience programming in Rust and/or C/C++.
  • 3+ years of experience developing software for embedded platforms or resource-constrained environments.
  • 3+ years of experience supporting software integration, testing, debugging, and verification activities.

  • Experience working within Agile software development environments.
  • Strong understanding of software engineering principles, coding standards, design patterns, and development methodologies.
  • Experience developing software for cryptographic or secure communications systems.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to guide technical development efforts and mentor team members.
  • Experience supporting aerospace, defense, or space-based technology programs.
  • Knowledge of secure software development practices and cybersecurity principles.
  • Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills.
  • Experience working within cross-functional engineering organizations.
  • Passion for innovation, continuous improvement, and emerging technology adoption.
  • Ability to identify opportunities to leverage AI-enabled tools to improve software quality, productivity, and engineering efficiency.
Additional Information:
  • Upon offer of employment, the individual will be subject to a background check and drug screen.
  • Overtime: May be required based on program schedules and business needs.
  • Work Location: Scottsdale, AZ.
  • Work Arrangement: Hybrid/Flex.
  • Schedule: Flexible work schedules available, including the potential for a 9/80 schedule with every other Friday off.
  • Work Environment: Advanced aerospace, defense, and embedded systems engineering environment focused on secure communications and cryptographic technology development.
