Procurement Professional - SCM

Role Summary

This role is for a Procurement Buyer who will be responsible for end-to-end management of purchasing and subcontracting activities. The position focuses on analyzing material needs in Oracle/MRP systems, soliciting and evaluating supplier RFQs, RFPs, and RFIs, and performing cost and price analysis to support sound sourcing decisions. This role will negotiate with suppliers to meet program cost and schedule targets, prepares and administers purchase orders and subcontracts, and ensures on-time delivery while controlling costs. The role also acts as the main link between suppliers and our GDLS teams, coordinating source selection, managing quality, design, and payment issues, and ensuring compliance with applicable procurement laws and regulations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management or a related business discipline
• 7-10 years of experience in a similar procurement or buying role
• Proficiency with Oracle MRP or other MRP-based purchasing systems
• Demonstrated experience in cost and price analysis, including formal write-ups
• Strong negotiation skills
• Willingness to travel domestically on occasion and internationally as required
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Strong problem-solving and program management abilities
• Proven business acumen and sound judgment
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment to achieve objectives and performance metrics
• Ability to perform under pressure, meet deadlines, provide timely updates, and clearly communicate status to stakeholders
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and internet-based business applications (preferred but not required)
• Solid understanding of procurement processes, systems, and MRP
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, organize the workday effectively, and maintain an accurate buying deck.
