What to Expect

Build a cost picture for CX/QA work, Tesla internal labor, equipment, tools, rentals and 3rd party services vendors based off scope schedule - keeping it up to date and accurate as the job moves. This role requires constant communication with the field team and schedulers. Separate Tesla work from vendor work and equipment spend so nothing is double-counted or left unfunded. When scope or the schedule changes, you recast the estimate and show what that does to the quarter. Expect to defend your numbers with a clear basis: what is in, what is out, and what happens if the plan slips. | Estimating internal work and current funded scopes including newly funded scopes and on-going design changes. take incomplete scope and turn it into hours, equipment cost, and vendor dollars that people can fund against. Most of the work is building and updating estimates such as drawings, equipment lists, and the schedule change. Collecting data from actual hours billed against each package/scope, keeping accurate timesheet data to avoid leakage and have historical data for future planning.

What You'll Do
  • Develop bottom-up man-hour estimates for Tesla CX and QA internal work by project, Job ID, area, and discipline (Mechanical, Electrical, Controls, HVAC, and others as assigned)
  • Convert hours to cost using current internal rates, overtime, shift, and per diem assumptions; keep rate tables current
  • Separate direct field hours from supervision, planning, and support to ensure funding transparency
  • Validate quotes, unit rates, and lead times with Procurement and end users before inclusion in the funding package
  • Work directly with schedulers to pull activity durations, logic, and dates that drive hour and cost estimates; recast estimates when the schedule moves (start/finish, stacking, outage windows, beneficial occupancy, turnover)
  • Provide a clear basis of estimate: what is in, what is out, what is assumed, and what will change if the schedule slips
  • Follow all design changes and update CX/QA schedule as needed

  • Payroll and workforce planning experience
