The Department of Nursing at the University of Massachusetts Boston invites applications for a full-time, 12-month Clinical Assistant/Associate Professor A position. We seek an innovative and student-centered educator who is passionate about undergraduate nursing education and committed to preparing the next generation of nurses to advance health equity and improve health outcomes across diverse communities.

This position is ideal for a doctoral-prepared nurse educator with expertise in undergraduate nursing curriculum, didactic teaching, and student support. The successful candidate will join a dedicated faculty team committed to academic excellence, innovation, and inclusive student learning.

The teaching load for a 12-month Scholarship of Practice faculty is nine 3 credit courses that are delivered across the academic year.

Key Responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate nursing courses using evidence-based and student-centered teaching approaches.
• Contribute to course and curriculum development, evaluation, and continuous quality improvement initiatives.
• Support student success through mentoring, advising, remediation, and NCLEX preparation activities using ATI.
• Utilize innovative instructional technologies and online learning platforms to enhance student engagement.
• Participate in program assessment, accreditation activities, and ongoing curriculum review.
• Engage in service activities that support the department, college, and university
• Contribute to student recruitment, admissions, orientation, progression, and retention efforts.
• Collaborate effectively with faculty, staff, clinical partners, and students to foster an inclusive learning environment.
• Attend and actively participate in program, department, college, and university meetings and activities.
• Maintain professional engagement and contribute to the mission and strategic priorities of the Department of Nursing.

Required Qualifications

Doctoral degree in Nursing (PhD, DNP, EdD, or equivalent) from an accredited institution.

Current, unencumbered Massachusetts RN license, or eligibility for Massachusetts RN licensure.

Experience teaching nursing in higher education.

Demonstrated expertise in undergraduate nursing education, curriculum development, and student learning assessment.

Strong communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.

Commitment to working with diverse student populations and advancing health equity.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience teaching in online and hybrid learning environments.

Record of peer-reviewed, practice-focused scholarship.

Leadership experience within professional nursing organizations.

Demonstrated contributions to professional service, curriculum innovation, or program development.
