The Information Technology Support Associate (ITSA) supports the implementation and operation of a generative AI patient simulation platform integrated throughout the Year 2 medical curriculum. This includes maintaining classroom AV infrastructure, managing real-time simulation interactions, and assisting with the onboarding and support of faculty, tutors, and students in using AI-based educational tools.

Under administrative direction from the Dr. Richard Selinfreund Associate this position assists AI simulated patient development for the medical school..

1. Serve as the primary IT support contact for AI patient simulation sessions throughout the Year 2 rollout.
2. Configure and maintain all tutor room AV equipment, including webcams, speakers, microphones, and simulation terminals.
3. Conduct pre-launch testing of simulation environments to verify readiness for HII, CRR, NMB, and ERG case activations.
4. Support real-time AI platform interactions between students and simulated patients, troubleshooting audio/video or connectivity issues.
5. Coordinate with simulation faculty and tutors to schedule technical support and ensure platform reliability during student sessions.
6. Assist with onboarding and training faculty, tutors, and staff on the use of RavenAI and related AI educational tools.
7. Maintain logs of technical issues and resolutions for continuous quality improvement.
8. Interface with RavenAI and SIU's internal IT teams to escalate issues and deploy updates.
9. Ensure compliance with data security, privacy standards, and simulation integrity policies.

1. Any one or any combination totaling one (1) year (12 months) from the following categories:
   1. College coursework which includes linguistics, literature, writing, Artificial Intelligence, Information Technology (IT), IT Management, Programming, IT systems, or a closely related discipline, as measured by the following conversion table or its proportional equivalent:
      • 30 semester hours equals one (1) year (12 months)
      • Associate's Degree (60 semester hours) equals eighteen months (18 months)
      • 90 semester hours equals two (2) years (24 months)
      • Bachelor's Degree (120 semester hours) equals three (3) years (36 months)
   2. Work experience in IT-related functions such as hardware/software support, programming, network design, network engineering, IT systems integration, or closely related field.

2. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
3. Ability to oversee and coordinate activities of user groups.
4. Ability to effectively communicate and professionally interact with all staff levels and customer groups.
5. Ability to identify and resolve technical problems.
6. Ability to demonstrate fundamental knowledge of effective troubleshooting methodologies.
