Orthopedic Ambulatory Clinic | Onsite | Monday - Friday

We are seeking a friendly, organized, and patient-focused Practice Assistant to join our fast-paced Orthopedic Ambulatory Clinic. In this highly visible, patient-facing role, you will be an essential part of our team, helping ensure patients feel welcomed, informed, and supported throughout their visits.

What You'll Do:

- Serve as the first point of contact for patients, providing a welcoming and professional experience throughout check-in and check-out.
- Coordinate patient appointments, schedule follow-up visits, answer incoming calls, and respond to patient inquiries.
- Verify patient demographics, insurance information, referrals, and clinical documentation while maintaining accurate records in Epic.
- Collect co-payments, assist with patient forms and portal enrollment, and coordinate patient visits with radiology and casting services as needed.
- Keep patients informed of appointment delays and collaborate with clinical staff to support an efficient patient experience.
- Support daily practice operations, including preparing patient charts, scanning medical records, managing correspondence, and maintaining an organized front desk.
- Serve as an Epic resource for scheduling, registration, and billing, providing guidance to colleagues as needed. Training is provided!

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 2-3 years of office experience required; experience in healthcare or a customer service-driven environment is welcomed.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with standard office procedures and technology.
  • Strong communication, organizational, multitasking, and time management skills.
  • A patient-first mindset with the ability to remain professional, adaptable, and attentive in a busy clinical setting.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with patients, providers, and administrative colleagues while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
