JOB SUMMARY

Works under general supervision to provide Medical Assistant operations and provide clinical, operational, and workflow support in a patient care setting. Serves as a resource for staff, supports training and development activities, and promotes efficient, safe, and patient-centered clinic operations.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

• Education

High School Diploma or GED equivalent

• Experience

2 years of experience as a Medical Assistant, Certified Medical Assistant, Patient Care Technician, or related patient care role in a clinic or healthcare setting

• Licenses and Certifications

(BLS) BASIC LIFE SUPPORT Course accredited by the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) Upon Hire and

Current MOA Certification required, through one of the following organizations Upon Hire

JOB DUTIES

• Coordinates daily Medical Assistant staffing assignments and workflow activities to support efficient clinic operations and patient care delivery.
• Monitors clinic workflow, identifies operational issues, and recommends process improvements to promote efficiency, quality, and patient satisfaction.
• Serves as a resource for Medical Assistants and assists with problem-solving, workflow questions, and escalation of operational concerns.
• Assists leadership with staff scheduling, attendance monitoring, timekeeping review, and coordination of staffing resources.
• Supports recruitment, onboarding, orientation, training, competency validation, and cross-training activities for Medical Assistant staff.
• Serves as a preceptor and mentor and coordinates onboarding activities for new employees.
• Provides ongoing feedback regarding employee performance, training needs, and development opportunities to clinic leadership.
• Supports leadership in maintaining compliance with departmental policies, regulatory requirements, and organizational standards.
• Serves as a liaison with medical practitioners, nursing staff, and other departments to facilitate effective communication and coordination of clinic operations.
• Maintains patient confidentiality and promotes appropriate handling of patient information in accordance with organizational policies and procedures.
• Oversees assigned quality and compliance activities, including point-of-care testing oversight, quality assurance processes, competency validation, and audit activities as applicable.
• Serves as a Point-of-Care Testing (POCT) designee and assists with training, competency assessment, and recertification activities as required.
• Supports clinic safety initiatives, including equipment monitoring, supply management, safety rounding, emergency preparedness activities, and other assigned safety responsibilities.
• Maintains adequate inventory of clinical supplies and assists with coordination of equipment maintenance and repair.
• Performs Certified Medical Assistant duties as needed to support clinic operations and patient care delivery.
• Participates in departmental training, leadership development, quality improvement initiatives, and ongoing professional development activities.
• Duties performed may include one or more of the following core functions: (a) Directly interacting with or caring for patients; (b) Directly interacting with or caring for human-subjects research participants; (c) Regularly maintaining, modifying, releasing or similarly affecting patient records (including patient financial records); or (d) Regularly maintaining, modifying, releasing or similarly affecting human-subjects research records.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
