The Multi-Family Housing Coordinator, under limited supervision, develops and implements activities to stabilize, maintain, and enhance multifamily communities. Key responsibilities include coordinating resident engagement activities, enforcing minimum housing standards through inspections, and establishing partnerships with community managers. The role involves organizing events, responding to resident complaints, conducting public meetings and training, and interacting with various stakeholders. Additionally, the coordinator enhances residents' quality of life by developing strategies for long-term maintenance and coordinates City services to ensure consistent and effective program implementation. This position does not supervise other employees.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Incumbent(s) may not be required to perform all duties listed and may be required to perform additional, position-specific duties.
- Develops and implements resident engagement activities by coordinating and facilitating on-site meetings, block parties, and information sessions and interacting directly with residents regarding City services.
- Ensures communities maintain minimum housing standards by administering an inspection program, coordinating with Code Compliance staff, conducting inspections, enforcing City codes, and responding to resident complaints.
- Establishes partnerships with local community managers by serving as an information resource, providing technical support, and providing information regarding City services and ordinance requirements.
- Enhances quality of life for residents by developing strategies and policies for addressing common multi-family community issues and identifying and resolving issues related to long-term maintenance.
- Coordinates services across City departments by creating procedures to assist departments in consistent and effective inspection programs and complaint response and collaborating with departments and other agencies to provide on-site services.
- Operates under the City of Allen's core values of People First, Respect, Integrity, Deliver and Excel.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Education and Experience: Work requires broad knowledge in a general professional or technical field. Education and experience that provide the necessary knowledge and skills may also be considered, but a typical way to qualify is by obtaining:
- a Bachelor's degree in business or a related field and two (2) years of relevant experience, or equivalent.
Special Requirements:
- Must possess a valid Texas Class C driver's license.
Knowledge of:
- City rules, regulations, policies, and procedures with particular attention to codes and ordinances.
- Project management principles and practices.
- City code of ordinances, Allen Land Development Code, Texas Commission of Environmental Quality (TCEQ) rules and requirements, Texas Health and Safety Code, and International Code Council.
- Modern office practices, procedures, and equipment.
Skill in:
- Establishing and maintaining working relationships with professional and support staff, vendors, the public, and City employees.
- Reading and understanding City, State and Federal rules and regulations.
- Providing outstanding customer service and conflict resolution.
- Operating a personal computer utilizing a variety of business software.
- Creating, preparing, writing, and proofing reports, presentations, documents, and correspondence.
- Working effectively in a high-pressure environment with changing priorities.
- Effectively communicating in both oral and written format.

light activity
and requires the physical ability to perform the essential functions of the role. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals to perform these functions. Typical physical demands include:
- Frequent walking, standing, bending, or reaching
- Lifting/carrying up to 20-25 lbs
- Moderate hand and arm coordination (typing, handling small tools)
