Job Description Job Purpose: The Engineering Intern supports the Network Development Team by assisting with U.S. federal broadband programs and related engineering, administrative, and field activities. Duties involve engineering and program support, Financial and administrative support and field and cross-functional coordination. Essential Functions Assist engineers with projects while learning day-to-day engineering workflows. Develop or modify provisioning sheets, graphs, and charts as required. Research, track, and update project information status and milestones Perform other related marginal duties as required. Draft schematics and create geographic maps using GIS tools. Develop and validate addresses for provisioning sheets. Update databases and systems. Coordinate with Planning and Engineering teams on related activities. Communicate with engineers and cross-functional teams as needed. Join site walks with an HT engineer to validate poles, pull boxes, utility holes, and addresses. Gather and verify staff timesheets for detailed work entries. Review work orders for time and material charges. Prepare issue and invoices for projects. Resolve customer disputes and discrepancies. Maintain and reconcile financial records. Maintain financial records to track invoices and payments. Generate aging reports to monitor accounts receivable. Serve as a contact for invoice inquiries and discrepancies. Perform other related or incidental engineering duties as needed. Education Must be enrolled in an Associate's, Bachelor's or Master's degree program in, Engineering Technology, Computer Science, or Finance concentration from a two-year college or university. Special Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Microsoft Office Suite: Familiar with all applications from the Microsoft Office Suite to create reports, analyze data, and present information. Ability to learn to utilize new software applications with little/no training and documentation essential. Ability to quickly learn and utilize new technologies/programming skills 2 or more of the following college course equivalents: UH written communication (FW), UH focus requirement (O, OC), social sciences (DS), or any equivalent Experience with CoPilot, ArcGIS, SQL, or Python a plus Have a valid driver's license Hourly Rate: $17.00 - $22.00
