HRIS Administrator (Hybrid)

The role - what you'll do

Barr is seeking an HRIS administrator to join our Minneapolis or Duluth, Minnesota, team. In this hybrid role, you will support Barr's Human Resources Information System (HRIS), Workday, and serve as a primary point of contact for HRIS questions, troubleshooting, reporting, and system support. This role is responsible for maintaining data integrity, supporting dashboards and performance metrics, responding to ad hoc reporting needs, assisting with system upgrades and releases, and helping build and configure new HRIS functionality. The HRIS Administrator is embedded in the compensation and benefits group and is part of Barr's corporate Human Resources team.

A successful person in this role will be highly organized and service focused. They will bring strong technical and problem-solving skills, communicate effectively with internal clients and vendors, and take a proactive approach to improving processes, maintaining accurate documentation, and supporting reliable HR data and systems. They also have exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and completeness in work output.

Your impact - key responsibilities

• HRIS support and troubleshooting: serve as a primary point of contact for HRIS questions, troubleshooting, and user support. Partner with HR, compensation and benefits, Information Systems, and vendors to resolve issues and support system users.
• Data integrity and reporting: maintain, audit, and improve HR data quality. Prepare and update performance metric reports and dashboards, respond to ad hoc reporting requests, and support reliable HR reporting practices.
• Workday configuration and functionality: assist with building, configuring, and maintaining HRIS functionality within Workday. Support enhancements that improve system usability, accuracy, and efficiency.
• System upgrades and testing: work with Information Systems staff to test upgrades, releases, and system changes. Support validation activities and help document results, issues, and follow-up actions.
• Process improvement and documentation: identify and recommend process improvements. Create and maintain accurate process documentation, procedures, and reference materials to support consistent HRIS practices.

About the opportunity

• A hybrid work arrangement may be considered for this position. This role is based out of Barr's Minneapolis or Duluth, Minnesota, office. A hybrid work arrangement refers to splitting time worked between a Barr office and a home office.

About you - required core competencies

• Education: bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field; or equivalent relevant experience
• Experience: one or more years of relevant experience:
  • Using reporting and querying functions in an HRIS system
  • Maintaining and auditing data quality
  • Applying technical and problem-solving skills
  • Identifying and recommending process improvements
• Strong client service skills, including the ability to understand, educate, and build relationships with internal clients and vendors
• Software: Workday, Microsoft Office suite, including intermediate to advanced Excel skills
• Communication: strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship by Barr, now or in the future.

• Experience managing projects
• Process documentation experience

Compensation: Anticipated range of $25.00-$30.00 hourly. Compensation will vary based on relevant experience, education, skill level, and other compensable factors. Employees in this position may also be eligible for a discretionary cash bonus based on team and individual performance. This position is classified as non-exempt (hourly) under the Fair Labor Standards Act.
