THE POSITION

The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Parole Board is seeking a motivated Clerical Assistant 2 who wants to help keep vital public documents in order. This position allows you to play an active role in reviewing sentencing records and supporting communication with justice officials. Your efforts will help ensure that each case is documented clearly and correctly. Be part of a workplace that appreciates dependable and thoughtful work.


DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This position focuses on reviewing sentencing information and ensuring notifications and records are handled properly. As a Clerical Assistant 2, you will perform the following duties:

  • Sentence Review: Review sentence information from assigned prisons and verify migration into parole systems
  • Record Verification: Notify prison records officers when sentencing information is not accessible and research electronic document systems to determine file creation
  • Notification Management: Review sentencing to confirm judges and district attorneys received required notifications and prepare missing notifications for mailing
  • Case Logging: Log reviewed cases in the judge and district attorney database
  • Training Participation: Schedule and attend required training each fiscal year
  • Additional Duties: Perform other related duties as assigned

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full time employment, 37.5 hours per week.
  • Work hours: 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 3 days per week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg, PA. Telework arrangements are subject to change. Additional details may be provided during the interview.
  • Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $36,831 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Six months as a Clerical Assistant 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • Graduation from high school; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.
