THE POSITION

As a Management Technician with the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP), you will help guide key administrative processes that support critical environmental programs. Each day brings the chance to work with staff, grantees, and important data to keep projects moving forward. Your work will help ensure funds are used responsibly and effectively. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This position supports the administration of grant and rebate programs by managing data, preparing documents, and assisting staff and grantees throughout the process. The role helps keep essential program work organized, accurate, and aligned with agency requirements. As a Management Technician, you will perform the following duties:

  • Data Management: Maintain program records, enter information accurately, and update databases to ensure data quality
  • Grant Processing: Prepare grant agreements, amendments, and related documents needed for review and signatures
  • Budget Tracking: Review invoices and monitor spending to help grantees remain within approved budgets
  • Compliance Checks: Perform required program checks to confirm eligibility and resolve any identified issues
  • Program Coordination: Work with staff, grantees, and fiscal partners to support budgeting, payment processing, and project needs
  • Procedure Improvement: Recommend updates to administrative processes to strengthen efficiency and accuracy

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
  • Travel may be required
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 3 days per week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.
  • Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $46,827 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Three years of advanced clerical or para-professional work which included the collection, recording, compilation, and presentation of office management or program related information; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training. An Associate's Degree may be substituted for two years of required experience.
