VersAbility Resources is seeking a detail-oriented and dependable General Clerk III to provide advanced administrative and clerical support for our Military Sealift Command (MSC) Government Contract.

In this role, you will use subject-matter knowledge and sound judgment to complete administrative assignments involving multiple steps that may vary in nature and sequence. You'll select appropriate methods and procedures, make adaptations or interpretations using established guides and manuals, and escalate issues that cannot be resolved through existing procedures.

The General Clerk III performs administrative support, records management, data entry, scheduling, customer service, and other clerical functions while maintaining accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance with government contract and security requirements. The position may also provide day-to-day work directions and guidance to lower-level clerks as assigned.

What You'll Do
*Perform advanced clerical and administrative duties in support of the MSC Government Contract.
*Apply subject-matter knowledge and sound judgment to assignments involving multiple steps that may vary in nature and sequence.
*Provide administrative and clerical support through correspondence management, data entry, filing, scheduling, and records management.
*Maintain and accurately update databases, spreadsheets, reports, records, and electronic and physical filing systems.
*Procure, monitor, and maintain office supplies and equipment within approved budget guidelines, including submitting order requests and tracking inventory.
*Assist with routine inquiries, concerns, or complaints and escalate issues when appropriate.
*Use office technology, databases, and software applications to complete assignments and maintain accurate records.
*Maintain confidentiality and comply with applicable government security protocols and contract requirements.
*Provide professional customer service to employees, government personnel, customers, and other stakeholders.
*Follow applicable clerical and administrative procedures accurately and consistently.
*Provide day-to-day work direction and guidance to lower-level clerks as assigned.
*Support MSC Security when required by maintaining visitor logs, tracking visit requests, and issuing access badges for MSC employees and visitors.
*Accurately track and report workload information to the Department Lead for inclusion in the Monthly Quality Control Report.
*Obtain access to required military installations and work onsite during scheduled work hours.
*Perform other administrative duties as assigned.

Qualifications - Required
*High school diploma or GED equivalent.
*Minimum of two years of experience performing administrative, data entry, or high-volume clerical duties in a professional office environment.
*Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams, and SharePoint.
*Sufficient knowledge of general office procedures and compliance requirements.
*Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance. VersAbility can facilitate the clearance process for eligible candidates; however, at minimum, an Interim Secret Clearance must be obtained before a start date can be issued.
*Self-transportation to the assigned work location.
*A valid driver's license is required for the locations identified in the approved job description.
*Ability to obtain access to military installations and work onsite during scheduled hours.
*Ability to maintain confidential and sensitive information, including personally identifiable information (PII).
*Strong written and verbal communication, attention to detail, organization, customer service, and problem-solving skills.
*Ability to work with minimal supervision once trained and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications - Preferred
*Associate degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field involving records management or data entry.
*Proven experience in a clerical or data-entry role.
*Experience using internal databases, records-management systems, spreadsheets, and reporting tools.
*Familiarity with government, military, or compliance-based administrative processes.
*Experience supporting fast-paced office operations and managing multiple priorities.
*Familiarity with disability services is a plus.

Schedule
This is a full-time, onsite position, Monday through Friday.
Specific shift hours depend on the department assigned. Candidates must be able to meet all listed shift times for the applicable work location, as department assignments are based on contractual needs and assignment to a specific department or shift cannot be guaranteed.

All shifts include a 30-minute unpaid lunch and two paid 15-minute breaks.

*7:00 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Eastern
*7:30 a.m.-4:00 p.m. Eastern
Occasional schedule flexibility may be required to meet deadlines, support meetings, or complete time-sensitive work.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements
This position operates in a professional office environment supporting a government contract. The role involves frequent interaction with internal staff, leadership, government personnel, customers, and other stakeholders and requires professionalism, discretion, and strong customer service.

Work is primarily performed at a desk using computers, phones, printers, databases, and other administrative equipment. The position requires managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions, including phone calls, meetings, and requests for administrative support.

Physical requirements include:
*Prolonged periods of sitting and working at a computer.
*Frequent use of hands and fingers for typing, filing, and operating office equipment.
*Occasional standing and walking to retrieve files, documents, or supplies.
*Lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling up to 10-20 pounds.
*Frequent reaching, bending, or stooping to access filing cabinets or storage areas.
*Visual acuity for reading documents, reviewing data, and computer work.
*Effective communication in person and by telephone.
*Ability to navigate stairs as needed, as not all installation buildings have elevators.

Compensation and Health and Welfare Benefit
Compensation for this position is established by the applicable government contract and/or wage determination. The posted pay reflects the fixed rate authorized for this position and is not subject to negotiation except where permitted by applicable law or contract requirements. In addition to the applicable hourly wage, this position is eligible for a Health and Welfare benefit of $5.09 provided in accordance with the applicable government contract and benefit requirements.
