Senior Pursuit Strategy Coordinator
Location: Grand Rapids, Kalamazoo, or Lansing, MI; Toledo or Cincinnati, OH
Employment Type: Full-Time

We're looking for an experienced marketing professional who can bring strategy, creativity, and leadership to our pursuit and business development efforts. In this role, you'll lead proposal strategies, support key business development initiatives, strengthen our brand positioning, and collaborate closely with technical teams and leadership across the firm. You'll also have the opportunity to mentor junior marketing staff and help shape how Fishbeck approaches pursuits, marketing, and client engagement.
What You'll Do
- Lead the strategy and execution of proposal submissions, partnering with technical teams, business development, and marketing staff to create compelling, compliant, and client-focused content.
- Develop pursuit strategies and messaging that clearly communicate Fishbeck's differentiators, experience, and value.
- Conduct and oversee market research to identify target markets, client opportunities, industry trends, and competitive insights.
- Serve as a key liaison between marketing, technical teams, business development, and leadership to keep pursuits aligned on strategy, messaging, timelines, and deliverables.
- Write, edit, and develop high-quality proposals, presentations, qualifications packages, marketing collateral, and digital content.
- Oversee the production and assembly of proposal and pursuit materials from initial strategy through final submission.
- Lead and support interview preparation, including presentation strategy, content development, graphic design, messaging, and team preparation.
- Maintain high standards for quality, accuracy, brand consistency, and compliance with client requirements.
- Develop and execute marketing strategies supporting campaigns, trade shows, speaking engagements, award submissions, social media, digital marketing, and public relations efforts.
- Take a leadership role in organizing and supporting industry events, trade shows, and networking opportunities.
- Mentor and provide guidance to junior marketing staff, helping develop their skills in proposal development, writing, strategy, and branding.
- Collaborate with the Marketing Operations team to create an integrated and consistent approach across marketing deliverables.
- Help refine marketing and pursuit processes, identify opportunities for greater efficiency, and support the continued evolution of Fishbeck's marketing and business development approach.
- Participate in industry organizations such as ACEC and SMPS and stay current on marketing trends and best practices within the A/E/C industry.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field.
- 8+ years of experience within an in-house marketing department, preferably in the architecture, engineering, construction, or professional consulting industries.
- Strong experience developing and leading proposals, pursuits, and strategic marketing initiatives.
- Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly InDesign.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
- Experience working with digital asset management and client relationship management systems.
- Strong writing, editing, and persuasive communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and execute strategic marketing and business development initiatives.
- Strong conceptual, typography, layout, and graphic design skills with an eye for brand consistency.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with technical staff, leadership, clients, and other stakeholders.
- Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple high-priority pursuits and deadlines simultaneously.
- A proactive, collaborative approach and the ability to provide strategic direction while also being willing to jump in and get the work done.
- Experience mentoring or providing guidance to other marketing professionals is preferred.
