Web Developer, Drupal Apply Online The Drupal Developer will support and enhance a large-scale Drupal multisite platform serving Maine state agencies. This role is critical to maintaining platform stability, resolving issues, and ensuring accessibility compliance across various websites. This position includes a significant focus on maintenance and support work, along with contributing to new feature development and platform improvements within a standardized Drupal environment. This is a hybrid working role which requires 3 days, onsite, in office per week. Responsibilities Write efficient, reusable, and well-documented code aligned with Drupal best practices. Participate in peer code reviews, providing technical validation and feedback. Perform ongoing maintenance and support: Troubleshoot and resolve bugs, incidents, and defects Implement accessibility fixes aligned with WCAG 2.1 / 2.2 standards Address content, configuration, and theming issues Develop and maintain Drupal 9/10/11 sites in a multisite architecture Build, enhance, and maintain Drupal features including custom modules, themes, reusable components, and configurations. Implement frontend solutions using Twig (required), SCSS, and JavaScript Create and modify Twig templates (nodes, paragraphs, views, layouts) Use preprocess functions to structure data for frontend rendering Support deployments using Acquia Cloud and CI/CD pipelines Collaborate with project managers, designers, and other developers to deliver new site components, fixes, and enhancements. Contribute to platform improvements that reduce recurring maintenance issues Track and manage work in JIRA Qualifications Strong experience with Drupal (custom modules, hooks, services, configuration management) Proficiency in PHP and Drupal APIs Required: Hands-on experience with Twig templating Experience with Drupal theming and preprocess functions Solid frontend development skills (HTML, SCSS/CSS, JavaScript) Experience troubleshooting and resolving production issues Familiarity with Git workflows and CI/CD pipelines Experience working in multisite or multi-environment architectures Understanding of accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1 or higher) Preferred Skills: Experience in maintenance-heavy or support-driven environments Familiarity with Paragraphs, Layout Builder, and component-based development Experience with Acquia Cloud hosting Experience supporting enterprise or government platforms Ability to identify root causes and implement long-term fixes Work Environment: Fast-paced, ticket-driven environment with a mix of maintenance and project work Collaboration with cross-functional teams including QA, project management, and other developers Structured release and deployment processes Additional Information: This role includes a high volume of maintenance and support work Candidates should be comfortable managing multiple concurrent tasks and priorities Emphasis is placed on quality, reliability, and adherence to established processes Location Augusta, Maine Travel 0-5% State-Specific Salary Range Disclosure Requirements Salary will generally fall between $74,575 - $85,000 before adjustment for geographic differences.
