Job Summary

The Inventory Control Clerk supports accurate inventory records and efficient material flow throughout warehouse and production operations. This position performs cycle counts, investigates inventory discrepancies and material shortages, verifies receiving transactions, monitors inventory movements, and maintains accurate inventory information within company systems. The role works closely with Receiving, Warehouse, Production, and other operational teams to support inventory accuracy, product availability, and timely fulfillment.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

• Performs and documents scheduled cycle counts, physical inventories, and year-end inventory activities.
• Investigates inventory discrepancies, material shortages, and negative inventory balances and completes appropriate adjustments or escalations.
• Verifies incoming deliveries and receiving documentation for accuracy before transactions are entered into company systems.
• Monitors and verifies inventory and material movements between warehouse, production, and other designated locations.
• Reviews inventory reports and researches discrepancies to maintain accurate inventory records.
• Generates inventory variance, cycle count, and other inventory-related reports as required.
• Creates and processes inventory transfers and production transfer orders to support operational requirements.
• Maintains accurate and current inventory records within applicable systems.
• Communicates inventory issues, shortages, discrepancies, and potential operational impacts to appropriate personnel.
• Supports inventory audits and other inventory-control activities as required.
• Maintains organized records and documentation in accordance with company procedures.
• Actively supports and complies with Pelican's objectives, guidelines and commitment to Safety, Environment and Quality
• Performs additional duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• One (1) year of related inventory, warehouse, receiving, or materials experience.
• Working knowledge of inventory control practices, cycle counting, and warehouse operations.
• Ability to effectively use computers, handheld scanners, Microsoft Office, ERP, warehouse and inventory management systems, and other current or evolving technology required to perform the job.
• Ability to learn and consistently follow technology-based processes and procedures.
• Ability to investigate discrepancies, review information, and identify appropriate corrective actions.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
• Ability to organize and prioritize multiple responsibilities with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a warehouse and production environment.
• 1st Shift: 6:00 am - 2:00 pm, Monday - Friday

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

• While performing the essential functions of this position, the employee will frequently be required to perform standard physical activities such as standing, walking, sitting, and using hands and fingers to operate or handle objects.
• The employee may also be required to perform non-standard physical activities including climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, and crouching.
• The employee must have the ability to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds frequently and up to 40 pounds occasionally in accordance with job requirements.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across severalU.S. geographic markets. Base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The annual U.S. pay range for this positionis listed below. Paywithin this range varies by work locationand may also depend on your qualifications, job-related knowledge, skills,and experience.
