About the role: As we expand our AP1000 program across the globe - with a focus in the United States - we're looking for experienced and motivated individuals to join our mission.

As an AP1000 Supplier Performance Engineer you will lead the manufacturing readiness and supplier capability assessments for critical mechanical components as a resident. This role is important to ensure manufacturing feasibility, mitigating production risks, and securing supplier performance for one of the world's most advanced nuclear reactor designs.

You will report to the Supplier Performance Manager who is based in the United States.

A Colleague who is based in US will support you and will help you during an onboarding process.

We can work this position in various locations throughout the US in PA, FL, OR, NC, TX, OH.

• Supplier Oversight:
  
  
  
  • Ensure Westinghouse technical and quality requirements are achieved by performing on-site supplier oversight.
  • Develop and implement Supplier Oversight Plans to lead completion of critical document submittals, manufacturing activities, surveillance (witness and hold) points, inspections, and tests and ensure vendor compliance with critical requirements
  • Coordinate activities of Westinghouse functions responsible for driving supplier performance including Supply Chain (buyers and category managers), Design Engineering, and Supplier Quality Oversight
  • Promote prompt resolution of issues by coordinating activities, issuing communications, and identifying partners to ensure prompt identification of impacted products, disposition of issues, and implementation of corrective action
  • Monitor main supplier performance metrics to identify negative performance trends and implement corrective actions
  • Evaluate procurement risk, soliciting partner input, and applying resources to develop security of supply risk mitigation plans
  • Oversee internal and external (supplier) corrective action requests
  
  
  
  

Supplier Development:

• Perform technical evaluations of our suppliers to assess manufacturing capability, capacity, process controls, compliance with applicable regulations, codes & standards, and associated risks
• Identify gaps between supplier evaluations and Westinghouse technical / quality requirements
• Lead supplier development and qualification activities for new products, supplier improvement programs, and cost reduction efforts.
• Review and disposition supplier process documents, process capability analyses, measurement system analyses, input to design for manufacturability
• Work with Design Engineering to ensure the integrity and clarity of engineering drawing requirements
• Ensure the smooth flow of communication, both internal and external
• Support implementation of Value Analysis / Value Engineering, Design for Assembly, and Design for Manufacturing principles during the design process.

Qualifications:

• We require desired 5+ years experience in role obtained in a heavy fabrication environments (including welding and machining of large mechanical components) and a basic understanding of mechanical principles.
• Manufacturing of large size steel components (low volume / dedicated specification) preferably pressure vessels
• Experience in a regulated industry (e.g. nuclear/aerospace)
• Project management
• Have lead complex supplier engagements.
• Lead Supplier Development projects (Production Part Approval Process or New Product Implementation)

• Nondestructive testing/examination awareness (PT/UT/MT/RT)

We are committed to transparency and equity in all our people practices. The base salary range for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be $50/hour to $85/hour.
