What You'll Do

As a Senior Marketing Associate, you'll lead complex, on-brand communications and pursuits-setting standards, elevating proposals and digital channels, mentoring colleagues, and coordinating vendors to deliver clear, timely materials that help SSR win work.



  • Develop and manage graphics, proposal, supporting material, and communication standards to ensure brand consistency firmwide.
  • Develop and implement marketing strategies, firm initiatives, and communication campaigns aligned with organizational and business goals.
  • Lead the preparation of proposals, statements of qualifications, presentations, communications, social media content, and other complex marketing materials.
  • Compose, edit, and produce letters, proposals, presentations, newsletters, reports, articles, and other communications independently or in collaboration with marketing support staff.
  • Mentor marketing support staff, model best practices, and share subject-matter expertise to support team development and performance.
  • Coordinate with the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) and internal departments to develop, review, and refine internal communication materials.
  • Lead proposal intake by reviewing scope, submittal requirements, formats, schedules, and priorities; communicate assignments and deadlines to pursuit teams to ensure timely delivery.
  • Schedule and facilitate planning meetings, conference calls, pursuit discussions, and interview rehearsals; coordinate and assemble supporting materials.
  • Identify and manage background research related to target markets, projects, clients, and potential opportunities; provide relevant insights and information to pursuit teams.
  • Manage external vendors supporting website services, public relations, photography, printing, promotional materials, and other marketing needs.
  • Serve as the primary marketing resource for an assigned specialty, such as internal and external communications, database management, tradeshows, or events.
  • Maintain proposal analytics, metrics, tracking tools, and work processes to support effective pursuit management and continuous improvement.
  • Coordinate the distribution of marketing and pursuit responsibilities and reassign tasks as needed to balance priorities, resources, and deadlines.
  • Manage marketing projects efficiently and effectively to achieve scope, schedule, quality, and organizational goals.
  • Assist with training and development of marketing support staff.
  • Actively participate in professional organizations and industry events, including leadership opportunities, to build relationships, expand industry knowledge, and enhance SSR's professional image.
  • Collaborate across offices and departments to share expertise, resources, and workload in support of marketing and business development priorities.
  • Perform other marketing and business development duties as assigned.


Who We're Looking For

Minimum Requirements:



  • A four-year degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Advertising, or a related field.
  • Eight years of experience in customer service, marketing, sales, public relations, or a related field, or six years of experience in the architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) industry.
  • Certified Professional Services Marketer (CPSM) certification preferred.


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Comprehensive knowledge of SSR practices, services, markets, and the professional services environment.
  • Knowledge of strategic planning techniques and the ability to develop marketing initiatives aligned with business objectives.
  • Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud, including InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator.
  • Familiarity with CRM platforms and marketing databases, such as Cosential.
  • Strong writing, editing, proofreading, and presentation skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational, project management, and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Demonstrated collaboration, mentoring, delegation, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to coordinate resources across multiple offices and work effectively with internal teams and external vendor partners.
  • Strong judgment, decision-making, and strategic thinking skills.
  • Ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with internal and external customers and stakeholders.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in both written and verbal settings.
  • Experience supporting proposals, presentations, communications, digital marketing, events, or other professional services marketing initiatives.
